watching all this “messi’s legacy” videos, i remember so very well the amount of hate he received after THAT copa america and how he ended up announcing his retirement after that.

it’s very true how players are only loved when they make the fan’s dreams come true and people don’t care about it being a “team” sport.

majority of the hate he gets is only because he is a big player or because people have issue with his teammates.

he misses a goal and it’s the talk of the town for a month like it’s not one of the probability of trying.

now that i’ve calmed by nerves. i’m glad argentina went on to winning the world cup in the penalties because of the all “it’s rigged for argentina” cries.

because them winning in the penalties is less on the ref and more on the players and how THEY perform. so it’s a win-win
