Warmth. It surrounded you, enveloped you, drew you in until the steady beat you fell asleep to shifted into the familiar sound of Thoma’s laughter.
“Good morning, my love,” he hummed into your hair. The sound of it, the feel of his chest rumbling against you pulled you further from sleep. Why would you ever linger when the man of your dreams was waiting for you?
“mm, m-nring.”
“Morning,” he chuckled, easily adjusting the blanket that was falling off your shoulders. You shifted closer to him, taking in his scent. “Man, I didn’t know you were such a cuddler,” he laughed.
“Of course I am,” you said as your arms slid around his side causing him to jump from the sudden contact. “Sorry.”
“It’s alright, just ... ticklish.”
“mmhm,” you knew that. You learned he was ticklish when the two of you started dating. It wasn’t in many places, but it was enough to cause him to tense up whenever you were close. “c-s-r.”
“What?” Thoma asked, his body adjusting to look down at you.
“Closer.”
“I don’t think you can get closer.” He brushed his hand over your hair, his arm adjusting so you could slip in further until you managed to find a way to be flush against him, “I guess I was wrong,” he laughed, shifting again so your leg wasn’t digging into parts of him he’d rather they not. “This also means we aren’t getting up yet, are we?”
“... nope.”
“As you wish.”
Thoma wrapped his arm around you, he adjusted until his head was resting against yours and you were nestled securely, comfortably in his arms.
Last night the two of you made plans to go to the fair in town. You’d taken off work so you could spend the whole day with him. He remembered how excited you were preparing, planning, and thinking off all the fun things the two of you would do. In fact, he remembered practically dragging you to bed so you could sleep long enough to enjoy yourself. Now, as he held you close, he wondered how he’d ever get the strength to wake you up.
“I love you,” he whispered against your brow and smiled at the feeling of your fingers pressing against his back.
