Alex stood her ground, a hand held in front of her yellow energy dancing across her fingertips. Eyes narrowed slightly.
“Overconfidence? Afraid not. I know full well what I am capable of.”
There is a slight twitch at his obvious dare, part of her wants to prove him wrong. To send him flying across the room.
But her more–rational side won out. If only barely.
“Your little—attempt at goading me? That’s what is truly humorous about all of this. What are you playing at?”
