It's a werewolf thing, so I thought about tagging you, but I don't know if you have thresholds for what you do/don't wanna be tagged in, so I'm offering it here instead. Do you have lines, or is it more "anything werewolf is fine by me"? https://www.tumblr.com/peoplegettingreallymadatfurries/654749460732182528/wereralph
Tagging me with werewolf stuff is fine as long as it isn't untagged porn. It might not be my preferred flavor of werewolf, but at the very least I like to know what's out there.
Ok new game. What's the thing you're a fan of that you're the most pretentious about. NOT the most pretentious thing you're a fan of, I mean the thing that makes *you* act like one of those "oh yeah? Name five of their albums" people. There is a difference
Bad news: everyone who has said some variation of "umm actually I don't do that 🙏 I'm a good person" is more annoying than the rest of us confessing to our nerd crimes. Yes you do. I guarantee it you do. You're saying Um, Actually right now
Werewolves.
Unsurprisingly I have a lot of very strong opinions about werewolves and how they should be used in a story.
I feel like other stuff I'm really into I info dump a lot. So it's like "oh yeah? name five albums" and more "let me tell you about these albums"
But with werewolf I'm just like well this is bad at werewolves.

People are talking about how reading Dungeon Meshi gives them an internal monologue Senshi for eating properly I think we all need to adopt an internal monologue Chilchuck at work. Like the boat is literally sinking and he's just watching it happen because he's on his lunch break.
This is the Union Chilchuck, reblog him to affirm your own worth as a worker and entitlement to regular breaks
Hey all, the kickstarter for the 4th City Between book just launched. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1495959227/murky-water?ref=9tyx20
The whole series is urban fantasy stories set in a futuristic world.
In the futuristic city of New Mahtlaw, technology has made the supernatural hard to hide. The world knows werewolves are real but their rarity makes them an oddity not a threat. But more lies out there trying to stay in the shadows.
This newest volume focuses on Detectives Maria Pimienta and Detective Connor Burke as they investagate a man who drowned in his living room. While they quickly find the killer, proving that's the case is harder. Because when the murder weapon is magic what evidence is left behind?
Please spread the word! Every little bit helps!
$4 away from $3k!! We're getting there with every bit of help!
6 days left! And it just needs $900 to hit goal! Please spread the word!
This is one of my best friends, and the GM for my primary D&D game. Please help if you can, and boost if you can't.
Spirit Animal is racist.
Patronus was invented by a transphobe.
I think it’s time we all suck it up and say what we mean: fursona.
I know this is a jokey post (rip OPs notes) but a fursona is typically an animal REPRESENTATION of YOURSELF, not an external animal that is strongly meaningful to you and your life/journey.
I've seen daemon and familiar proposed, but to keep in line with the cursedness of the original post, may I suggest: spiritual tamagotchi
do you have any idea how refreshing it is to see a correction/suggestion to this post that actually understands the assignment
Pokemon. Is a pokemon.
“I love Danny Devito. Danny Devito is my starter pokemon”
oh yeah that’s good. that’s really good.
In Disco Elysium, Harry calls a Cockatoo his "Astral Captain" and it's stuck with me ever since.

Firstly, everyone I have a kickstarter going on! If you want to grab a print copy of Murky Water, head on over and back it! (thank you!!)
Thanks to everyone who stopped by my table at Emerald City. I hope you all had a good weekend! If you signed up at Emerald City here’s what I’m working on:
My day job is as an editor at the manga company Seven Seas and the indie comic publisher Iron Circus Comics. I like folklore, fantasy, and especially like werewolves.
This month I’m mostly focused on my Kickstarter and banging that promo drum.
This months werewolf movie Late Phases. If you wanna join me and my discord on Sunday, March 24 at 5pm PST pop on over by clicking here.
As always I’ll be streaming art on Twitch. My schedule is currently the following:
Last month I’ve been doing the rounds to promo my kickstarter by jumping on a lot of podcasts. If you wanna here me talk about my stuff I was on:
The last scene is in a store. So gonna have to draw a lot of stuff on shelves. But I think I can get it done either this month or early next month. Then I can start giving Blue Moon all my extra attention.
Only other thing that has been getting my watch attention lately is Delicious in Dungeon. If you don’t know what that is, it’s about a dnd style party venturing into a magic dungeon. They can’t afford rations so they are eating the monsters as they fight them. There is a lot of fun cooking bit and talk about how a monster ecosystem would work. It’s just a lot of fun. And it’s full of great facial expressions.
That’s it for this month! Thanks everyone for your support!
Longtime pal Kel McDonald returns to the show this week to talk about their new book, Murky Water, which is funding now on Kickstarter! Plus: what kind of Pokemon gyms we would have, werewolf songs, and the differences between fantasy and sci-fi.
The rundown:
Comics reviewed:
Pokemon Gyms are important
I'm avoiding writing and you probably are too, so let's at least think about our characters while we do it.
You know the drill- send me a number (ONE number, you can come back for more) and I'll answer for an OC of your choice (if you know their name) or my choice (if you don't know their name). Feel free to name some of your OCs in the tags of your reblog, if you want to be asked about them.
Remember: play nice! Send an ask to the person you reblogged this from, and try to send a few to folks that reblog from you!
can't believe there are still people out here in the year 2023 that genuinely think aang should have killed ozai
"even avatar yangchen said—" that's not the POINT, the point is that aang is the LAST airbender the LAST air nomad the LAST person following these teachings, the point is that if he breaks his vows the air nomads will truly die out with him, forever. the point is that the monks taught him all life is sacred and even if ozai is a piece of shit who everyone agrees deserves to die, aang refuses let ozai force him to give up the last thing he has of his people, their lessons, refuses to let ozai wipe the last air nomad from the earth and finish what his horrible family started. the point is that aang beats ozai because his spirit is unbendable, the point is that he takes the man whose ancestors set his on fire and robs him of the ability to hurt anyone ever again, the point is that the Fire Lord ends the fight kneeling before the Last Air Nomad and THAT is the ending aang deserved

Artists who've drawn graphic novels, how long have you told publishers it'd take you to finish? If you can include page count, any extensions and if you had help eg colourist. I'm curious to see how long it realistically takes ppl, as well as the expectations of publishers
I’m far from an expert on this but i typically math out how many pages i could comfortably do per week X how many pages are in the book. Then i generally add a week or two depending on the length for buffer time. Publishers are always going to want things to go faster and you may have to negotiate on your deadline a bit but the important part is that youre not burning yourself out. Ive learned its way better to be realistic about timeframes instead of crunching for months.
The timeframe I’m going to give my pub for the book I’m about to start interiors on is somewhere between 56 and 68 weeks. That’s for a 208 page GN. Our editor is nice so i know there’s room for negotiation and i may be able to get some more time for a slower pace.
Hope this helps some!
Also, please note that monthly comics (marvel and dc) put out 22 pages a month. That is with a team. So if the publisher is pushing for more than/faster that on your own, they are being unrealistic.
