“Well, I certainly appreciate the compliments, Zai. It’s not often one admires my plants with such spirit.” He inspected some foliage, eyes widening when he realized a pleasant circumstance. “The pitchers look a bit hungry. Would you like to feed them?”
“Is it just me or do you also find it ironic they get upset when we say things like ‘the straights’?”
“Ironic indeed. They’re very fragile...the straights.”

Pleased to see his new acquaintance making herself more comfortable, the fox gave a soft smile as he pulled a dead leaf off one of his potted herbs. “How rude of me not to introduce myself; I’m Kurama. It’s not everyday I get visitors at my window. And you are?”
