Quite honestly my fandom friends have been a rock through this year, especially when I couldn’t deal with everything going on. I wouldn’t have imagined getting to talk with one of my favorite authors, @ronniesshoes, and that has been a highlight of my year. Of course @mazzelloh and @sixtysecondstreet, my absolute babes and the sweetest gals I know, who are such incredible friends with the biggest heart. Anyone who checked on me here, sent a message, and asked how I was, they probably didn’t know how much it meant for me, but it helped me a lot.  @mehrcurry, @rushingheadlong, @emmaandorlando, @casuallygloriouspirate and @elodieyung among them ❤️

I binged some shows and rewatched a lot of old ones when I needed the comfort of well-known stories (ask Sarah and my yelling over Gilmore Girls constantly). I read for pleasure, which was unheard of lately for me, and applied myself at college because I was taking classes I really liked. 

I listened to a lot of Queen but precisely also a lot of Hozier, Harry Styles, Lana del Rey, Oasis, Lizzo, and Florence + the machine. 

I did 4 writing workshops and started writing again, which felt amazing. I started classes to learn a new language. I had major breakthroughs in therapy. 

It has been nice putting all of this down in writing - in the midst of it all and still worrying what the future might hold, it was very uplifting looking back on the good.

I’m picking up where I left the other day with the asks

As a bookworm and a former child who used to devour books every week, this is the best and worst question 😂. My favorite writer is Joan Didion, particularly love her books “The Year of Magical Thinking” and “The White Album”. Nora Ephron is another absolute fave. As a fiction stand-alone book, “Maurice” by E.M Forster is certainly at the top of my list. Anything by Jorge Luis Borges and for poetry, Antonio Machado. I also got Florence Welch’s Useless Magic and is utterly divine.

ugh anon I’m so sorry they pick on you because of that. First thing I can tell you is to love the things you love regardless of what others think or say about it. You enjoy really good music, and that should do. But I would ask them which artists they listen to and tell them that surely the musicians they like have those very same “old grandpas” as their source of inspiration and admire them.
