When I was younger, I would wonder why artists always wrote about love: the feeling of it, the absence of it, the aftermath of it. And then I fell in love and understood exactly what they felt. We are always in flux with love. We are either chasing it, reeling from it, hiding from it, or trying to hold onto it. It is the ultimate driving force of human nature. You can’t know it by the stories alone. You have to live it, even if it means losing it.
