I was still at school when skinny love came out, and suddenly I got all this attention so we were trying to follow up with the album quite soon after. it was quite a lot for me – being that age – to come up with a whole album of songs that were my own! I still like doing covers, but it’s been so important to me since then to prove myself, in a way, and to put my own stuff out there.

Stop silencing people and scaring them away by accusing them of supporting the Holocaust and antisemitism when they talk against a modern day settler colonial state. Why are you taking the words said against the IDF and the Israeli government personally? And so out of context? Please stop doing that

A really funny take (not actually) that I always see present in conversations centering around resistance against political violence is how the oppressed group will always be accused of making the situation worse by simply resisting in ways that might include proportionally smaller acts of “violence” when compared with the military and political injustice thrown against them. Whenever you spark a conversation about non-violence with an oppressed group of people, you lose your sanity and humanity in my mind

I think this is relevant in regards to the current forced eviction happening in Sheikh Jarrah and to the ways Palestinian families and the Palestinian resistance are reacting. Don’t let the media fool you into thinking both sides are in the wrong. One side is a settler colonial state going against international laws to fulfill their ethnic cleansing agendas and the other side are resisting Palestinians
