It wasn’t hard to see that her girlfriend was spacing out, and yet, all it took was her gentle suggestion to bring her back to the surface. Margot gave her a warm smile, reaching out slowly to take both her hands. “S’okay, T. No need to apologize. I just wanted to make sure you were okay,” Margot murmured, giving her knuckles a kiss. The corners of her lips turning towards a smirk, she asked, “Are you sure you’re ready to cuddle for the next four hours while we watch The Fellowship of the Ring?”
Thena turned her hands so that she could hold onto Margo’s, the other girl’s warmth seeming to flood into her and fill her to the brim. She smiled softly, giving her head a nod because she knew that Margo would never expect her to apologize. It was just understood between the two of them. “I am. Being here with you makes sure of that,” she told her girlfriend, and her gaze took a moment, lingering on her knuckles where Margo had kissed before moving on. “That sounds absolutely perfect. Maybe I’ll finally begin to make sense of it all,” she teased gently.

“You don’t have to talk, we can just sit together,” Margo suggested, her gaze soft. “If you want, I can pick out a movie or something instead,” she offered.
Thena hadn’t even realized she’d been so lost to the world when Margo’s voice roused her. Lips parting, she sighed softly, “I’m sorry, I think I just got a little lost in my thoughts just now,” she murmured, giving her head a tiny shake. “But a movie would be nice. One of your favorites, please?”

Rarely did Margo get to experience moments so soft, and yet, every one she spent with Thena left her with the same warm feeling gooey; as if her insides turned to honey. These slow, tender moments were ones that Margo absolutely cherished, and starting off her birthday with them couldn’t be more perfect. The quiet hum in return was harmonious with the quiet atmosphere they’d created. As was the happy laughter that came with a nose scrunch as Thena kissed her nose. “Hm, birthday kisses already?”
As Thena kissed her fingers, Margo’s eyes took a doting quality to them. “Hm, it is, but you always have the best ideas,” she countered, the banter easy and effortless. “Did you have any suggestions?” Margo asked, before giving her cheek a kiss, “You know I’m happy to do anything, as long as it means spending time with you.” As sappy as the sentiment sounded, it was absolutely true. Shaking her head, she ducked it down to lean against Thena’s chest, “You always spoil me,” she mumbled.
Thena’s smile was so natural with Margo it made her wonder how she had gone so many years, so many decades without Margo in her life. The little scrunch of Margo’s nose set her heart aflutter and Thena gave her head a happy little nod, “Mhm. You deserve one thousand and one birthday kisses today,” she hummed.
Despite wanting nothing more than to stay in bed with Margo all day, Thena pulled herself up into a sitting position so that she could look down at Margo then, gently running her fingers through her dark locks. “Well it has to be a surprise,” she told Margo, “Otherwise it would ruin all the fun. But you’ll need something that you can walk in to wear today.”

Margo had been prepared to bring Thena home the moment she decided to tell her Ada that she’d been seeing someone. She knew that he’d want to meet her as soon as she brought her up, and Margo wasn’t going to deny him that opportunity. Truthfully, she never thought that she’d have the chance to share this experience with her Ada, and though she was a little nervous for them to meet, she was even more excited. Thena was absolutely someone that Margo wanted to bring home though. She wanted Thena to meet her family, and hopefully, become a part of it.
As she and Thena reached the door, Margo gave her hand a light squeeze, “It’s going to be great, okay? My Ada’s going to adore you, and there’s nothing to worry about,” she reassured, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek. “Come on,” she guided, using her key to open the door.
“Ada?” she called out, “something smells amazing.”

Thena had been grown up in her grandfather’s court, learned her manners and presentation skills at her grandmother’s knee and yet all that she had ever learned on Asgard growing up, in all her years, seemed to flee from her now. Standing on the doorstep of her girlfriend’s family.
She turned her attention to Margo again and she wanted to keep clutching her hand like a security blanket. “I know that I shouldn’t worry but it is intimidating,” Thena admitted. The pit in her stomach made her think Asgardian politics would have been easier to deal with then.

As the sunlight hit her skin, Margo felt herself slowly waking up. Stretching, Margo turned over, acutely aware of the warm body curled up next to her. Letting out a sleepy sigh, she curled her body around Thena’s, resting her forehead against the back of her neck. After a moment of listening to her breathing, she decided that the other girl was very much awake, though soft with sleep. Kissing the junction of her spine, Margo mumbled warmly, “G’mornin.”
Gently, Margo sought out the other woman’s hand, interlacing their fingers before giving them a slight squeeze. “What’s on our agenda for today, love?”
Thena always slept well when she was beside Margo-- an ease overcame her and everything seemed that much better. She had begun to wake, however, but after peeking over at her sleeping girlfriend, she decided to let her continue to sleep for awhile. It was her birthday, after all. Yet Margo snuggled in and Thena smiled, soft and slow and happy. “Good morning,” she murmured back, turning over so that so that she could place a gentle kiss on the tip of the other’s nose.
“Well,” Thena began, drawing out the word softly, drawing their interlocked hands up to her lips, grazing over Margo’s in a gentle kiss. “Whatever you’d like. It is your birthday after all,” she smiled, lightly pulling her bottom lip into her mouth ever so slightly. Of course she had a loose plan, but she could be flexible. It came from years of practice. “I just want to spoil you, so say the word and we’ll do anything, go anywhere.”

ooc; to start, I am so sorry for my absence fdjgfg. I had a change of setting because of my lovely boyfriend having a dental emergency and as such, I’ve been without my computer for the week and have on my Chromebook instead which I REALLY struggle with doing replies/formatting with.
