#this is fucking awesome#would be interesting to know how close to plausible this is! i assume the story was made up for the bit but pokemon really is that fucky#multiplayer desync and pokemon data being pulled from the wrong places make some serious wacky shit happen!#i think in the newer games you tend to end up with obscenely high level bulbasaur because of how the pokemon data is organised#and the 'default' values it grabs if it doesn't get the instructions it needs for a 'real' pokemon so that the game doesn't crash#but the way pokemon data was organised on the gameboy/gbc basically is that it wasn't. absolute fucking mess all of it.#so i'd believe that a gen 2 cartridge would cough up a level 1 tangela with grossly incorrect stats under pressure

coming up with an au were a dead character lives but shaking my head while i do it so everyone watching knows i support the role their death played in the narrative and consider it a legitimate writing choice

#mother 3 fans rise the fuck up#yes claus' death is the only ending that would have made sense and closed off the narrative in a satisfying and thematically consistent way#but i want him to live and to get better and to be forced to contend with everything he's lost and everything he still has!!!!

imagine if instead of lawrence and ferb moving the US, linda and candace and phineas moved to the UK. and phineas and ferb made friends with british doppelgängers of isabella and the fireside girls and buford and baljeet. perry and doof are still the same he just ended up in the UK instead of the US. basically they all have british accents and linda makes some of the most unappetizing meals ever. anyways would that be fucked up or what?
