Greetings from Dark Horse Zine!

In honour of Otabek’s birthday tomorrow, we will be having a final sale of the remaining zines and merch we have.  

All proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Denis Ten Foundation.

Kazakhstani figure skater and 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Bronze Medalist, Denis Ten, was the main inspiration for the creation of the character of Otabek Altin. He passed away on 19 July 2018. The Denis Ten Foundation was founded by his parents, Oxana and Yurii Ten, in order to preserve his legacy and continue to develop the many projects which Denis had begun during his life, including the establishment of the Denis Ten International Figure Skating Academy.

The Dark Horse Zine donation sale will be hosted on darkhorsezine.bigcartel.com and will go live on 31 October 2018, 12:00 PM (EST). Stocks are very limited and each product will be sold individually so you can fill your carts with whichever items you want. You can find out more about the zine and merch items here. It has been more than a year since we launched this zine project and we continue to be deeply touched by all the support it has received. We hope you can support us one last time on this final ride.

DONATION UPDATE

Hi, everyone! 

Thank you so much for all the support you’ve given during Dark Horse Zine’s donation drive for the Denis Ten Foundation. We are pleased to report that we have been able to send 119,400 KZT (312.78 USD) in support of this project.    

The Dark Horse Zine shop will open again this month and will remain open until May 2019, for anyone who would like to purchase the last few stocks we have.

The zine is GORGEOUS, I’ve recently gotten mine (I sent it to a friend in the US, so I had to wait until her sister visited there and could retrieve it for me) and it’s really good! All of the art and the fics are beautiful, even the diagramation is great! You won’t regret purchasing such a lovely zine♥♥

So honored and happy to be a part of this amazing project with such hardworking and dedicated mods & participants! Thank you! This is definitely one of my memorable pieces as I worked on this during my stay in Europe & Japan – drawing in the hotel room late in the night, on the airplane, after a long day walking around Tokyo, etc. It was also my first drawing on the iPad too :D
