People ask why I play guard. It isn’t the rules, it’s not the prices. This is why I play guard. This is why I play nobodies in the pen and paper games. Why I write the stories of nameless heros as they dream and bleed and die.

From Star Wars, to Warhammer, and every fandom I join. Heros may raise a banner, but solomn banners grace the field of defeat, not victory. Without their legions of peons and meinals, heros are little more then practice dummies defiantly charging the firing line.

Just remember that next time your OC sneers at the lowly watchman they pass as they go about their heroic day.
