Capri Big Bang!

Hello Everyone!

We are happy to announce that this event is still alive and kicking! However, due to CaPri month the schedule had to be delayed, so the event is no longer an Octoberfest. For this reason, we have changed the title to the more simple “Captive Prince Big Bang 2018”. Furthermore, @berinbaka has joined the mod team!!

But more importantly, the signups for the Big Bang will open soon! All sign ups will be released on July 6th, with Author sign ups closing on July 20th and respective signups for artists, beta readers and pinch-hitters closing further into the event, so please keep an eye on that! 

Additionally, this year we’ll also create a form for submitting prompts if you have a few ideas you’d like to see written, or if you’re struggling for ideas as a writer. Anyone can submit a prompt, you don’t have to be signed up for the event. 

Please make sure to read the rules before you sign up and shoot us any questions you might have.

The schedule is as follows, note that it may be subject to change.

  • Start of signups - July 6th
  • End of Writer signups - July 20th
  • End of Artist signups -  September 8th
  • End of Beta signups - October 25th
  • First Check in - August 10th

Captive Prince Big Bang Day 15 (FINAL DAY) Till You Find Your Dream

Guys. GUYS! It is the 15th and final day of the Captive Prince Big Bang and every story has been posted and placed in our AO3 Collection! We plan for all most stories will be completed by our deadline of October 15th. So here’s to some good reading for the rest of the month!

Our final story might feature intrigue and angst, but by god if it isn’t a catchy premise! Auguste lives and Damen is secretly in Laurent’s employ as Nicaise’s tutor (GOD, poor Damen, I cannot even imagine). Together they’re going to work at kingmaking but...who knows how well they’ll work together? Our final bang story is the first chapter of @veretianblue story: Till You Find Your Dream! Enjoy!

Laurent closed his eyes. He tried to forget Aimeric and the stuffy library. Instead, he thought about the window in English class. He thought about how he had felt crying in his room on that fateful summer night. If he had done magic those times, to do it again he just needed to remember what it had been like – 
His stomach gave a lurch. He remembered how he felt when the window flew open, when his bedroom furniture went flying. He had felt raw. Exposed, like a nerve. He could not put the sensation into words, because he had been beyond words at the time. He had simply felt, and the magic had happened.

Did Aimeric deserve better? I for one think, yes tf he did. And we all need some morally good Aimeric in our life. How about a fic where he helps Laurent come to terms with some magic that’s in the air? Half-High School AU, half-witchcraft AU with a little dose of lacrosse thrown in for good measure, today we have @desastrista with the fic ‘Roses Picked Under a Full Moon’. Captive Prince Big Bang Day 12: Star Power

So many fantastic AUs during this Bang! If none of the AUs thus far have tickled your fancy, maybe try on today’s entry for size! Today on the Big Bang we an AU twofer: musician AU paired with a fake relationship! Hmmm I wonder how long that relationship will STAY fake ;))))) Not long, I would guess, since Damen as a rock star would be off the charts sexy...

Here’s my illustration for the Captive Prince Big Bang 2017 !

I was paired with @randomstufffromotherblogs to illustrate her fic, which first chapter you can find here.

I made my drawing to work like a cover for the fic, rather than draw a specific scene from it. I love the idea of hockey player Damen and figure skater, and Iggy did a wonderful job of transposing the canon relationships into those settings. Im really glad I got to work woth her as an author. And Iggy : thanks for bearing with me and being so understanding, I wasn’t the easiest artist to work with

It’s been a while I did a digital drawing, and colouring andnlights are still my weakness, so I apologize for any mistake. I was still pretty proud of this drawing, the pose and the light altogether. I hope you’ll like it too !

What with Yuri on Ice being so popular, you had to know the ice skating crossover was going to appear at some point, and add in Damen as a hockey player? HELL YES. It is almost an hour before Nikandros finds them. Laurent knows little of the Akielon palace, but he knows this: the slave baths will be one of the last places he looks. By now, the bells have stopped their peal, and Kastor’s blood has begun to cool on the marble floor. Damen is sluggish and barely conscious.

My piece for @jinlinli‘s fic the steady running of the hour, written for the Captive Prince Big Bang 2017! I loved how the story gave me insight into what might have happened after Kings Rising and I feel honored that I was able to work with it for this collaboration.

Hello! I have to say I enjoy reading all these fics and seeing all this awesome art but I admit to some confusion. All the other big bangs I've seen post all the work and all the art at the same time but here authors are only uploading a few chapters. It doesn't really feel like a big bang if you cannot read the whole story once it is posted and it goes against the spirit of the event.

Hello! I’m glad you’re enjoying the event so far and as far the posting…Since we took over the bang from the original mod, things were very close to deadline and we wanted to allow the authors and artists as much time to finish/tweak as possible. We left it entirely up to the authors: they could post an entire big bang at once, or stagger the chapters so they didn’t overwhelm readers. But rest assured, the Bang has a deadline finish date and all stories should be completed by then!
