But seriously though, most of us aren’t little girls?? (If you are tho that’s ok too) The age the majority of fans read this book are around 12-14, sixth to eighth grade. Or you found it from a friend or picked it up in a library. Who knows. Either way, writing lines inferring that the characters were super close, (like Stevepop or Johnnyboy) or saying how much someone loved somebody else (Jally) or maybe even that they would be cute together and even though they didn’t have many moments maybe they could help each other though life (Dar-Bit/DarryxTim I don’t know their ship name) you should probably expect that people are gonna ship them. It’s inevitable. Just respect their ships and move on. Also, boys read this book too. I have a friend who’s a guy who loves it. Some people on tumblr are dudes. And Instagram. And Pinterest. And any other social media, and some of you might have friends irl who are fans. What about non-binary people? They’re in the fandom as well. It’s not just “little girls” who read your book. People all ages/genders. Sorry if this was really long but thanks for reading my rant.

If I might add

I had an ex who reread the book recently. The first thing he called me was to ask me if I thought that Dally and Johnny had a fling or if Pony and Johnny were secretly dating towards the end of the book and we just didn't know because it was an essay Pony wrote for school. A 18 year old male asked me this.

I also had a 23 year old non-binary friend who was convinced that Darry and Tim were together
