nothing in any fandom will ever replicate the pure chaos of the night that the midnight memories album leaked in its entirety and all of us panic downloaded everything before it was taken down, and it all happened the night before 1D day where fans got an “exclusive listen” to the album but 1d knew they’d already listened to it, the fans knew, everyone watching at home knew, but we all pretended that tension wasn’t happening

#hockey#this is incredibly well said and incredibly infuriating#'for every vocal racist theres a thousand silent ones'#its shocking to me (which is perhaps my own fault for expecting better) that literally zero white nhl players had anything supportive to say#and by supportive i mean even a retweet of the article with no further commentary#literally anything#he writes this whole heartbreaking piece outlining among other things how lonely it is to be a hockey player of colour#and how he felt like no one with any status ever stood up for him#and not one person who currently has status had anything positive to say#not a single one! out of hundreds! i knew like 99% of you sucked but jesus christ really#i dont mean to make this about white voices but the silence is just absolutely deafening to me and does nothing but prove his point#i admire him for the strength in choosing to put this out there even knowing that the hockey world has already turned its back on him#and i admire that after everything he still manages to write this with a hopeful tone#im just so tired#people like him will make the game better
