Mulder, you don’t have to do this. You’re stronger than this.

Ello all, real life has been busy and I've pretty much switched back to some older interests so I haven't been on this Tumblr for a while (mostly sticking to twitter bc I prefer to stay up to date on current events - for work)
But feel free to message or DM if you guys ever wanna talk! Don't be shy, my work requires me to be online most of the time so my phone is always with me.
Idk if anyone I follow (or follows me is till active but hello!)

How to grow more confident about your fanfic:
1. Remember that you didn’t alter real life war poems to relate to the family tree of Knuckles the Echidna in an official licensed comic series.
2. That’s it. Your confidence has boosted already.
wh-what?
i'm literally begging people to relearn how to use earbuds and headphones. i don't wanna hear your fucking tiktok while im waiting for my flight.
I fucking hate that Tweet that's like "these women in Mexico tried to burn down the Presidential Palace and then a few days later the government gave in and legalized abortion," it's so insanely condescending for you as someone from the US to look at the (massive and militant!) Mexican feminist movement and their decades of life-threatening work and be like "they rioted once and then their problems were solved"
That's not what happened at all! The photo going around with that Tweet was taken at an International Women's Day protest, months before the Mexico City abortion protests! They didn't just show up one day! A national court ruling decriminalized abortion but it is still illegal in much of Mexico, and activists are still fighting for it right now!
The adoption of dark mode themes is one of the greatest advances in web design in the past decade
哥哥,Leslie Cheung, taking part in a TV special in 1999, paying homage to famed Cantonese opera star of the 1950s and '60s, Yam Kim-fai (任劍輝), on the 10th Anniversary of Yam's passing.
Leslie was known to be a huge fan of Cantonese opera and a fan of the Yam-Bak (Yam together with her performing partner Bak Sheut-sin [白雪仙]) combo in particular.
Here he is singing a popular piece, 「香夭」, from the popular opera, 《帝女花》, alongside actress and entertainment veteran and amateur Cantonese opera practitioner, Liza Wang.
Although 哥哥 never formally received any opera tutelage (unless you count whatever tutelage he should/would have received for the times he performed opera for his film roles), he managed to hold his own against Liza Wang, who isn't actually that good in singing in my opinion, despite her self-professed ‘being a student of opera’ and having more experience than Leslie and even obviously outshone her here! :D The awkward tension between them is quite obvious!
Bonus:
Anita Mui can be seen in the audience too, presumably supporting her good friend Leslie, while thoroughly enjoying the song — even mouthing along to the lyrics! (^^) ↓↓
If I recall correctly, Anita was also known to be quite a fan of Cantonese opera.
For anyone interested in the meaning behind this song: I did a post on this before.
Cantopop diva Anita Mui during her last concert in November 2003. Anita would pass away a month later due to cervical cancer.
"Instant shining is not eternity. Show business is a hard life. I wonder how many people will remember me after I leave the business for good. My hope is that when they feel bored and look at the stars in the sky, people will think of my name."
