Hello Steph!! Do you know any reverse-reichenbach fall??

Anonymous said to inevitably-johnlocked: Am I crazy to ask for a good John sacrifice fic, like a reversal of the whole Reichenbach scenario? Do these exist?

Hi Nonnies!

They certainly do! Here are the ones currently in my bookmarks! (feel free friends to add your faves :))

REVERSE REICHENBACH

Friends Protect People by ArwendeImladris (T, 1,145 w. || Angst, Reverse-TRF, Friendship, Tragedy, Ambiguous Ending) – Friends protect people. John protects Sherlock.

Let Me Through by RacheLynne (K+, 1,172 w. || Angst, Friendship, Ambiguous Ending) – Once Sherlock and John are finally reunited, things seem to be looking up. But when is it ever sunshine and roses for these two? It isn’t long before things go downhill for the pair - and fast.

Thief by KendylGirl (M, 2,430 w. || Rev. Reich., Heavy Angst, Regret, Grief / Mourning, Pining Sherlock, Implied Drug Use, Self-Flagellation) – John has been gone for four months, and Sherlock is not dealing well with it. When he finds a personal item of John’s, the situation reaches a crisis. Part 3 of When to Let Go

Explosions, Literal and Otherwise by Jennistar1 (T, 3,288 w. || Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Worried Sherlock, Sort of Rev.-Reichenbach) – Sherlock does not react well to the idea that John might be dead.

Not Without Me by Jennistar1 (T, 4,319w. || Drama, Mystery, Post-TRF Hiatus, Pining Sherlock) – Halfway through Sherlock’s Great Hiatus, Mycroft comes to him with the news that John has died. But all is not what it seems…

Sink Like a Stone by pennydreadful (T, 4,348 w. | Angst / Dark, Cuddling/Snuggling) – After defeating Moriarty at the pool, life isn’t quite the same around 221B Baker Street…it’s more peaceful. And stranger.

I’d be Lost Without my Blogger by shadenc (T, 8,057 w. || Rev. Reich, Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Pining) – “There are several snipers with their guns pointed at your head this very moment. Now, if you look up you’ll see John and myself on the rooftop of Bart’s. Understand the game yet?” “Shoot me. Let him go and shoot me.” “Noble now, are we? Unfortunately, you are not the one who will make that decision.”

Watching You Die by laureleaf (T, 10,340 w. || Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Post-TRF, Suicide, Switching POVs, Sort-of Rev. Reich., Whump) – John watched Sherlock die three years ago, and Sherlock just watched John die. But neither of them are actually dead. Now an AU, with nods to “The Adventure of the Empty House”. Lots of angst and post-Reichenbach feels. No slash.

Checkmate to a Castled King by LaSuen (T, 18,290 w. || Friendship, Hurt / Comfort, Sick Sherlock) - John dies. Or at least everyone thinks he does. (REVERSE-TRF, FAVE)

When to Let Go by KendylGirl (M, 22,109 w. || Friends to Lovers, Reverse Reichenbach, Sacrifice, Forgiveness, Angst, Love, Implied Drug Use) – What if it were John who had to die to thwart Moriarty’s plans? John’s supposed death shatters Sherlock, and when he returns, it will challenge the pair to forge a path of forgiveness, to peace, and to find a way back to each other. Part 1 of When to Let Go

Lost Without My Blogger by starrysummernights (E, 52,155 w. || Rev. Reich, PTSD, Hurt / Comfort, Fluff / Angst, Psychological Torture, Reunion Fic, Friends to Lovers) – John is abducted and declared dead. How will Sherlock cope without his blogger? How will he react when John comes back from the “dead?” Drama and angst with a healthy dose of romance. Part 1 of I’d Be Lost Without My Blogger

Holmes is where the heart is by Rose de Sharon (T, 49,636 w. || Hurt/Comfort, Friendship, Post-TRF, Reunion Fic, Bromance, Empty House Inspired, Adventure) – Three years after the Reichenbach Fall. On the anniversary of Sherlock’s death, John pays a visit at 221 B Baker Street… and he gets the shock of his life.

“In the conflict with the company, I had tough times in my twenties. It’s not a proper thing to say in front of my parents who are here but we were like…we should go farming if we fail. Because the cancelling fees (for the contract) were too expensive. We didn’t have that much money. We came out for our liberty and happiness. We said, “If we lose the lawsuit, let’s just leave and die.” That’s what we were feeling. We wanted happiness so badly. We won our freedom not because we were great or because we were very wise but because you kept cheering for us. Without you, we had nothing to rely on. We would not have been so brave. So I would like to say, what I am proud of for the most since my debut is every one of you. Thank you so much! You are my biggest achievement.”

just see you write Sherlock's first meeting with his son, wonderful work! But how about Nero/Hamish's first meet with his sister?

Here you go, anon. Enjoy dear! :)

***

“Where’s Hamish?” Sherlock asked Mary as he brushed off the sweat from his forehead.

“John got him some ice cream. He’s been bouncing around like a puppy for hours now, asking questions about his mum.” Mary replied, touching Sherlock’s arm. “How is Irene, by the way?”

Sherlock gave her a smile, sitting beside her. “Well, she cursed me lesser than when she gave birth to our boy so…”

Mary ruffled Sherlock’s curls, beaming at him. “We heard from Hamish that he’s starting school next week. He was complaining.”

Sherlock nodded, affectionately thinking about his son. “They won’t accelerate him. He figured the classes will be too boring for him. He’s right.”

“I guess who he got that from…” Mary mused and they both laugh. At that they heard rapidly approaching steps and saw young Hamish leaving John’s side.

“Hiya dad!” Said the black haired boy, grey eyes lighting up at the sight of his father. “Can we see mummy now? How about my sister?”

Sherlock raised his eyebrows at his son, smiling at his inquisition. “Sister? How’d you know that? I haven’t even said anything yet.”

“I’ve been researching and been testing out the signs on mommy. It wasn’t that much of a mystery, daddy.” Hamish said simply, giving out a yawn.

Sherlock carried his child and propped the little boy on his lap. John caught up with them, sitting on the other chair beside Mary.

“Sherlock, what have you been teaching your son? He’s been saying tons of… Unspeakable things about school.” John said, rolling his eyes. Mary hit her husband. “Let Hamish be. He’ll do fine.”

Hamish turned to Mary, nodding. “Well, I’ll try. I can bet they don’t even know the order of the solar system yet… Not that it matters but mummy told me I should at least keep that here.” Hamish said, finger tapping his temple.

John rolled his eyes, sighing. Mary ruffled Hamish’s hair, pinching the boy’s rosy cheek. “And is it true you also taught Lizzie?”

At the mention of Lizzie’s name, Sherlock saw his son blush. Hamish rubbed his eyes, fidgeting a little as he replied, “She told you?”

Before Mary could respond, Sherlock shook his son a little. “Jonathan Hamish Holmes, you fanc—” Hamish covered his father’s mouth, shaking his head almost too eagerly. Mary caught what happened and she laughed in amusement, John scrunching his eyebrows in confusion.

“What’s so funny?” John asked his wife and Mary just shook her head, still beaming.

Sherlock held off his son’s hands, grinning at him. “You do, don’t you?”

Hamish jumped off his father’s lap, rolling his eyes dramatically. “You and your silly deduction, dad.. Can we see mummy now?”

Sherlock studied his son, standing up and taking his hand. “Okay… Okay… Come on.” He then addressed the Watson’s. “Are you coming?”

“It’s a family moment… Plus, we have to pick Lizzie from Greg’s. He was already complaining that Lizzie turned into his daughter’s minion and they’re trying to braid his hair.” John said. Sherlock tilted his head, thinking. “Who the hell is Greg?” Hamish rolled his eyes, tugging His father’s sleeve. “He means Detective Inspector Lestrade dad. Come on!”

“We’ll bring Lizzie over tomorrow.” Mary said, waving goodbye. She and Sherlock shared a soft laugh before they parted.

Sherlock saw his son’s focused gaze, giving his hand a squeeze. “Are you okay?”

Hamish shook his head. “Just nervous. What if she doesn’t like me?”

Sherlock smiled, remembering the first time he held this boy in his arms. He also had the same fears, the same worries, the same somber expression. Hamish reminded him so much of Irene’s personality that he almost forgot how alike they are as well.

As they approach the room, Sherlock saw Hamish wince. Giving him an encouraging smile, Sherlock said, “Don’t worry. She’ll like you.” Hamish nodded, his eyebrows still scrunched. They went in and saw Irene holding the small bundle in her arms.

“Hello darling.” Irene greeted, smiling at her son then to Sherlock.

“Mummy! How is she?” Hamish said, bouncing on his feet as he went to his mother’s side.

“Why don’t you find out for yourself?” Sherlock asked, nodding at his son. Hamish hesitated before stretching out his arms.

“Are you sure you can hold her?” Irene asked, smiling as Sherlock went to her to kiss her forehead.

“He’s a big boy. He could handle it.” Sherlock said, getting the baby girl from Irene and kissing its forehead as well, before handing it to their son. “Hamish, meet Arabella.”

“Arabella…” Hamish repeated, taking the baby in his small arms. “How’d you like the world, little sis?”

Sherlock and Irene laughed, holding each other’s hand as they watched Arabella blink, sky blue eyes focusing on her brother’s grey ones. “She can’t talk yet, dear.” Irene said, smiling at her son.

“Oh, I know that. That’s so silly to assume, mum. I’m just asking rhetorically.” Hamish mused, his eyes still fixed on his sister. His little fingers touched his sister’s forehead, smiling. “I’m gonna teach you so many things. Would you like that?” To their surprise, Arabella laughed.

“She likes me.” Hamish muttered, a grin surfacing on his face.

“Told you there was nothing to worry about.” Sherlock said, keeping this moment in his mind palace.

“Papa?”

“Yes, Hamish?” Sherlock said looking down at the young boy.

The boy looked back with blue eyes.

“Where’s daddy?”

Sherlock’s breath hitched in his throat. He knelt next to his son and held his shoulders.

“Hamish, your daddy is in a good place. But he’s going to be there for a while.”

“Why?”

“Well…I…I don’t know.” Sherlock hated it. He hated that the accident happened and it was all his fault.

When they were on a case and Sherlock shot at the suspect but the suspect jumped out of the way and John was right behind him. A bullet wound to the chest had John dead within an hour. He died exactly how he thought he would. In Sherlock’s arms.

Hamish didn’t know what happened exactly. Everyone just told him that his daddy was gone and that he wouldn’t be back for a long time. He didn’t understand why. He often blamed himself because that’s what he saw Sherlock doing on a daily basis.

“Did daddy love me?”

Sherlock looked up with worried eyes. He could feel his heart clenching. Hamish won’t remember John very well when he gets older. And it hurts because Sherlock knows exactly how that feels.

“Are you kidding? Your daddy loved you so much! He loved you to the moon and back.”

“Papa, where’s the good place?”

Hamish always had a lot of questions. He was like both his fathers. He was clever like Sherlock and caring and loving like John. But he always asked questions. He needed a logical answer for everything.

Sherlock stood up and picked Hamish up over his head.

“He’s up there.” He said

“Is daddy on a cloud?” Hamish asked

“Yes. Daddy is on a cloud. And if you really believe and you really hope, you’ll be able to see him looking back at you.”

Hamish smiled.

“Did you love daddy?”

Sherlock pulled his son close and kissed his forehead.

“Yes. Yes, I loved your daddy very much.” [x]
