AN: This guide is not meant to encourage you to start loving Russian language or culture. As much as I personally love Nikolai, I'll absolutely understand, there are people out there, that may feel bad, seeing him in CoD franchise, because of everything going on right now. This is not a call to start loving him, not a call to start describing this character as an absolute angel (he is not and never was). If seeing such a guide makes you feel bad - I'm genuinely sorry, and I'm open to a dialogue to make it better.

I tried to cover the most commonly used themes. However, it's impossible to make it short, yet all-covering. So please don't hesitate to come into my DMs with 'hey, I want Nikolai to say this thing in my fic - could you translate it in Russian for me?'. I'm always super-happy to help!

These are not my HCs, about what would Nik say, just some usefull phrases!

And the last one: Russian language uses Cyrillic letters. But I personally love to, at least try to hear, how other languages sound. So I provided translations (Cyrilic) and transliterations (Latin).

You were sitting on Zeke’s hideous suede green couch, playing with his lighter. The blonde was planted on the floor between your legs, hunched over his equally hideous oak coffee table.

“You want me to quantify how annoying I am going to be?”

You giggled and watched as he folded a crutch for the joint. It was cute how focused he was under the effects of two edibles. Brownies, to be specific. You had baked them yourself so the potency of said brownies was essentially a mystery.

Initially due to overwhelming impatience, the two of you thought they were shit and that you managed to bake plain, unexciting brownies. It wasn’t until Zeke was being significantly sweeter than usual and you were hyperaware of your fingers that you realized the brownies were a success.

Nikolai x f!reader

“You know, Nik,” she said, mug in hand leaning against the doorway to their bedroom, eyeing up her boyfriend, Nikolai, currently halfway up a ladder, drill in hand as he secured the mirror to the ceiling, “this is definitely one of your weirder ideas.”

“How so, my love?” He called, and resumed drilling.

When Nikolai had came down from his shower, pressing himself to her back to wrap his arms around her, kissing her cheek as she washed up the plates from the glorious breakfast he had made them both, cheerfully telling her that he had an idea for the mirror they had both picked up for their living room, intending to hang it in the wall alongside some of their pictures, which had turned up to be much bigger than the listing online (too big for the wall above the old fireplace, she had grumbled when they had lifted it and room, taken one look at the wall, the mirror, then moved to the attic), she had been confused more than anything, asking him why he wanted the mirror on the ceiling until it clicked the second she voiced her confusion.

“Well, for starters, it’s hardly practical.” the mirror wasn’t heavy, but awkward, “that’s seven years of bad luck if you drop that at least.”

“I am sure you will counteract that, my love.” She flushed.

“Secondly, you’ll hardly benefit from it.” She grumbled, finishing the last of her tea.

“Dearest, it is not for me.” Nikolai chuckled, “I know how much you enjoy watching.”

She choked on the last of her tea and Nikolai laughed, gripping the ladder for stability. She guffawed at him.

“I do not like watching!”

Nikolai lowered the drill, the mirror finally secured to the ceiling. He leaned on the ladder, looking at her with a grin on his face.

“Do you not remember last year when we were staying in that hotel—“

“Nikolai!”

He climbed back down from the ladder, folding it back up and leaning it against the wall beside the door, grabbing her empty mug and placing it on the chest of drawers.

“Well?”

“Well?”

Nikolai leaned down, cupping her chin, easing a thumb into her mouth.

“Want to try it?”

This struck me one day and I found it funny, but couldn’t be bothered to write actual smut so this is what you all get instead

I’m hoping to write some more Nikolai x reader fics because he’s pretty underrated, plus it gives me something to do in between bigger fics
