A gentle reminder ♥
A lot of people are extremely stressed, worried, and not having a good time this month due to obvious and understandable reasons. I urge people in the XIV community to extend a bit of patience and kindness to their fellow players. Many of us are in self-quarantine, and XIV has become a valuable way for us to stay socially connected.
I was in DF earlier and one of our alliance healers was struggling to keep people up. A salty tank decided to rip into her for simple mistakes, then another player jumped on the bandwagon to criticize her poor performance. Before she dropped out, she apologized and said her grandfather had lost his battle with the CV last night, and that’s why she couldn’t focus. She left before anyone in our party could say anything, but at the very least the tank felt like an asshole and said he’d try to reach out and apologize to her after the raid.
Please realize there are players who may be emotionally compromised, sick, stressed, returning to the game, or trying XIV for the first time while this quarantine is in effect. DF might be rougher than usual as a result. I know how easy it can be for certain people to dump their anger, impatience, and negativity into an MMO, but that’s not a healthy way to cope. We all need extra support and positivity right now.
