shoutout to slow creators!

i know it can be disheartening to work so slowly when it seems like everyone around you works so fast and churns out great content left and right. i know it’s easy to get frustrated with yourself for having to spend so much time on one thing and sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated long enough to finish. but the things you make are so good, and taking lot of time on something isn’t a bad thing. creation can be a very painstaking process, but the amount of love and care and effort and attention you pour into your work bleeds through. people can feel it. they appreciate it. they see how hard you try and they see how your thoughtful approach to creation affects the quality of the end product. speed is definitely a skill you can develop and chances are as you practice more and get more comfortable with things, you’ll be able to work faster. but no matter what, the things you make are worth waiting for. keep creating! you are wonderful!

one of my favorite things in The Batman’s depiction of Bruce is how human they make him in the style of how he’s shown. His hair is greasy and disgusting - he has to smudge on eyeliner. Even with the body armor you imagine that every single one of those hits and bullet impacts causes a scar and a bruise on his body - it really is just his own belief in his ability to endure that keeps him going. You see the fear in his eyes when he runs up to the roof and you see the utter pain and anguish he’s in in that final scene.

My favorite one of these details is that Bruce wraps his hands inside of his gloves - and they get all sweaty and tattered and dirty. Like of *course* batman would wrap his hands - it’s basic boxing / fighting etiquette, it protects his wrists, joints, and fingers and keeps his gauntlets tightly wound. And yet these are the details - like the mascara, like the dirty hair - that are never emphasized in prior batman media. Batman is always shown as cool, almost godlike, like a suave put-together James Bond figure. What they don’t show as much is that if Batman has these characteristics, it’s because he’s putting on a mask - a more real mask than the one he wears all the time.

“We both know this is your true face.”

Snyder fans love to say that Marvel is about humans learning to be gods while DC is about gods learning to be humans. I call utter bullshit on that weird christ-like interpretation of Superman and the other justice league members Snyder popularized. I think that’s not accurate at all. Batman is incredibly human - he’s extremely human. He’s horrifically traumatized and operates with such a specificity of action and intention because it’s the only way he knows how to contend with his feelings. He’s deeply broken, and he is striving to heal. And it isn’t being vengeance that allows him to heal. It is providing hope and protection to the innocent - and providing a sense of safety and family to his future bat family.

saw a bunch of comic bros saying “The Batman sucked cus Batman isnt about hope!!! Thats Supermans thing!!!” and its like

imo they both stand for hope, its just that the kind of hope they stand for is a little bit different

Superman’s hope is about believing in each other and our own intrinsic humanity. It’s the hope that humanity will grow, and there’ll be a better tomorrow.

Batman’s hope is about making it through today. It’s the hope that we’ll get through whatever it is we’re going through so long as we keep pushing.

so yeah they’re dif characters, but its not bad characterization for Batman to not be a total grimdark asshole lmao you’re just mad it ruined ur fantasy

I don’t know if someone cares but. I just watched Midngiht Texas 2x08 and…

Joe managed to talk to Chuy and help him get back in his human form after he killed Bowie to save Joe’s life. Chuy resisted the influence of the veil breaking. And yet this time jealousy is enough to push him to the point of no return? I mean couldn’t they find something better to trigger his change in demon mode?

yes, this season had some lay writing there. also last time he transformed it took 3 years to get him back to normal, then in season 1 it tok like five minutes and now in season 2 he has to kill him after some hours? wth show

also it kinda pisses me off the whole joe thing because the only way they foud to break him and make him a dark angel in season 2 was to make him  so…out of character compared to season 1? he didnt use his powers so no one knew he was there…and now he goes around hunting and then after falling for this person and a 1000 years together he does this…). Chuy should get to kill everyone, tbh

There are two people that are well loved that I absolutely hate. Scott McCall and Steve Rogers. They’re made to look like these morally bright individuals, but when you really look at it, they’re not. Scott was fairly abusive to his best friend, was uncomfortably obsessed with Allison, told Kira he would wait for her before hooking up with his best friend’s ex, 9 times out of ten sided with the bad guys, and just made really bad decisions that got other people killed or hurt frequently. And Steve Rogers literally tried to kill Tony Stark when Tony lashed out after finding out Bucky killed his parents. Like if Tony really wanted them dead they would have been dead, but Steve still felt like he had a right to try to actually murder Tony because of it. He knew that hitting the arc reactor would kill him, but he purposely went for it anyway. So like I can’t stand either of them. Also Steve going back and completely undermining another’s character’s growth in the series was absolute bullshit. I hated that more than anything honestly. I just needed to actually say this. It’s kind of controversial but hey it’s facts.

People acting like disabling his suit in the freezing cold and leaving him there alone is okay even if he wasn’t actively trying to kill him is ridiculous. And I’m not saying Tony should have attacked Bucky, but finding out that the thing you hated yourself the most for being someone killing your parents and watching how they died it makes sense. But he was not actively trying to kill either of them, but he wanted the fight and to lash out at the person he just watched brutally murder his parents. And the fact that Steve knew and never told him is horrible.

Not Scott too! I LIVE! I feel the same way. We might have slightly different reasons for why we dislike both characters, but there are no two fictional people I was meant to “like” that I despise more on this earth than those two. That self righteous main character shit is not it.

I've finished watching the first season What If... and, honestly, I didn't particularly care for it.

I mean, there were a couple if fun episodes and I appreciated those. Zombies were an interesting concept and party Thor was fun. But for the most part the series was just dark. And not nesscarily in a fun way. I mean it's not exactly a good time to watch your favorite heroes die over and over again.

But my biggest complaint? Is that marvel seems to have decided to use the entire series as yet another outlet to continously shit on Tony Stark; All the way down to the season finale.
