"The Adventures of Baby Claudia" Masterlist

Fluff, Human AU.

What is some fucked up gothic vampire romance compared to the challenge of raising a little girl as an LGBT couple on the twenty-first century?

Follow the adventures of Baby Claudia and her two dads (feat. Her chaotic uncles) in this all human au where nothing hurts and everybody lives. Because we deserve it, DAMMIT!

!!! HEY, REMINDER, ABO IS A SLUR AGAINST ABORIGINAL AUSTRALIANS AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDERS !!!

please just type it as a/b/o or call it what it is - omegaverse - and stop using laziness as an excuse for racism. it's literally only three extra characters to add the slashes.

Wanted to add that many Indigenous Australians also consider the version with slashes to be a slur. Please use omegaverse!

once tried to tell a white author about how it's sometimes difficult for POC to grapple with wanting to be a part of the culture they were born in while also being more comfortable/ assimilated into the culture you were raised in.

and it can be even harder if you are the only member of your race in your class or school or entire local community, because you feel like one of them but you also stand out as not quite one of them.

and her response was yeah... did you know my dad never wanted me?

and I was like hm.

ok.

go on, I guess.

Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

CNC and rape fantasies, sadism and abusive fantasies are pretty common and are, you know, kinks. Honestly, don't bother calling yourself pro-kink if you're going to shame people for reading fiction on these topics.

I was gonna add this in the tags but it feels important so: also do not call yourself pro-kink if you demand that people explain their kinks to you. You don’t have to be traumatized or ‘different’ to have kinks. Kinks don’t need to have an explanation to be valid. If there is a reason for someone’s kink, you’re not entitled to it unless the person decides to tell you about it.

Good morning! I’m salty.

I think we, as a general community, need to start taking this little moment more seriously.

This, right here? This is asking for consent. It’s a legal necessity, yes, but it is also you, the reader, actively consenting to see adult content; and in doing so, saying that you are of an age to see it, and that you’re emotionally capable of handling it.

You find the content you find behind this warning disgusting, horrifying, upsetting, triggering? You consented. You said you could handle it, and you were able to back out at any time. You take responsibility for yourself when you click through this, and so long as the creator used warnings and tags correctly, you bear full responsibility for its impact on you.

“Children are going to lie about their age” is probably true, but that’s the problem of them and the people who are responsible for them, not the people that they lie to.

If you’re not prepared to see adult content, created by and for adults, don’t fucking click through this. And if you do, for all that’s holy, don’t blame anyone else for it.

This needs to be reblogged today.

Consenting to see adult content doesn’t mean you should have to see a bunch of shit romanticizing incest and pedophilia you walnut

Except this is the last line of consent before the actual work. So if you’re at this button you have already done the following:

1) chosen to go onto AO3 in the first place

2) chosen the fandom you wish to read about

3) had the chance to filter for the things you do want to see like a specific pairing or a specific AU

4) had the chance to specifically filter out any tags you don’t want to see like, oh I don’t know, incest and non-con and dub-con and paedophilia

5) had the chance to set the rating level if you wish to remove any explicit content at all

6) have read the summary of the story, which aren’t always great but are the only indicator of what the story will be like writing wise so something about it was good enough for you to click on it.

7) have read the tags of the story which will tell you what is actually in the story. If you have used filters to remove stories with things you don’t want then there shouldn’t be anything in here that’s a shock to you but maybe there is. That’s why the tags are there for you to check for yourself.

8) Then you have to actually click on the story. You cannot see anything other than the summary or the tags without personally deciding that you are going to open and read this story.

9) Only here, at step number nine, do you get to the adult content warning pictured above. You have been through eight different steps, the last six of which have also been opportunities for you to see that this has adult content. And AO3 has *STILL* stopped you to ask one last time “are you sure you want to read this because it has things that only adults should see in it”.

If after this point you are reading incest and paedophilia then it’s probably because you specifically went looking for it.

You walnut.

This is the most beautiful thing that I have seen about ao3

Stop putting DNI on your tags and stop bringing shipping discourse into AO3

AO3 hid the story and asked OP to remove the tag (the fanfic is not even removed) due to the inflammatory tag. That's deserved. AO3 is not a social media for people to fight over ship and chronically online discourse. It's a library. If people keep bringing DNI and discourse into AO3 it'll make the place toxic for writers and reader.

What are you trying to accomplish with putting DNI? Do you think people actually care about DNI? No, it's just making you looking like an asshole doing this

Also AO3 was founded by a Wincest and Thorki shipper. Astolat made AO3 because FF net and other sites keep purging nsfw fanfic. AO3 is literally made for problematique shipper that op don't like.

Then OP doing this? For what? People want to enjoy reading their fanfic not seeing DNI and online discourse on AO3. I hate using the word virtue signaling as it's often used to demean progress but this is what a real virtue signaling looks like 🤦🤦‍♀️

(I bet op wrote more inflammatory tags on their fic other than 'proshitter DNI get a life' because it take a lot to get your story hidden or removed)

People used to comment on web comics.

People used to comment on fanfiction.

People used to comment on fanart.

People used to comment on OCs.

I hate "content" culture.

I hate "consuming content" and scrolling immediately to the next thing.

People used to be excited about the art that other people created.

People used to want to share that excitement with creators.

I hate this future.

There is no such thing as premature blocking. There is blocking: I went to your blog, read your posts and I know that I don't want the type of content you write about on my dashboard. Someone might feel this way about me too.

I absolutely do not expect anyone to inform me about it or try to check in private messages whether we will come to an agreement. You have no such obligation. I also have no intention of harassing anyone or asking what I did wrong if I am blocked. No one here is obligated to make me happy.

If you really think that an army of people is blocking you on someone else's orders, then let me remind you that anyone can see everything you post. You are not anonymous. You are not some people on the street whom you have to approach and talk to to get to know them. You show who you are by what you write.
