“E-er, well.. I s’pose that’s true. But ya never know- sometimes strangers tell those kinda lies for no reason.” He.. thought he better stop since he was kind of describing himself and how he lies about his involvement with Magma. Or rather tries very hard to hide it, especially from strangers. He hoped robots didn’t have the power to see through lies! That would be.. scary.
He ended up blushing just a bit from that. “I.. thank ya. That’s the nicest thing anyone’s said to me lately. Warms my heart..” It was hard to remember the last time someone told him they thought he could accomplish something. Maybe after the whole Magma thing, he will go back to school.. who knows.
After a bit of digging, he managed to happen upon the stone that Ai found in his scan. “Oh- Oh!! There it is!” It was just the tip so it was hard to tell what sort of stone it was. But he had to remain patient; if he tried to rush it, he could end up damaging the stone. A bit more digging and he managed to pop it out of the wall rather easily. His eyes immediately lit up. “A fire stone.. Oh my gosh.. I’ve– I’ve been lookin’ for one o’ these! Arceus, I thought I was gonna have to buy one o’ these expensive suckers! Ha!” He was kind of doing a little jig at this point, with how happy he was with this one find. He looked to Ai with a big grin on his face. “Thank you so much for helpin’ me find this beaut!” He honestly wasn’t expecting an evolutionary stone.. He just thought he’d find something pretty looking that he could put on display in his secret base. But this.. his vulpix Cinnamon could evolve with this. Though, he’d wait until she was ready of course..

❝The phenomena in exaggerating one’s person is often due to feelings of inferiority. The lies are told in order to gain good graces from the other party. I cannot find fault in this habit, knowing human’s desire for acceptance, but as an artificial intelligence, I hardly feel inferior, therefore I hold little need for falsities.❞     Ai’s head cocked just slightly at the blush, a brief scan wouldn’t show any abnormalities in Adrian’s temperature, so he could only assume he’d flustered him somehow. ❝You need not thank me for a compliment. I deliver them when I see fit, and it is unfortunate to hear you do not often receive kind words...Positive Reinforcement is useful for humans.,,as I suppose it is for all creatures.❞     At Adrian’s excitement over something so simple as locating the stone his scan had located, the AI found a small smile growing on his lips. He’d always wondered what it was like to find joy in small things, emotions being a difficult concept for him to grasp, it took quite a bit for the AI to feel anything at all. A nod was given at the thanks. ❝It satisfies me to have been of use to you. By your reaction, I can assume you possess a pokemon in which the stone is necissary for evolution?❞ Despite knowing how easy it would be for him to obtain a thunder stone himself, Ai wasn’t sure A.C. held much intent to evolve, at least not at the moment. ❝If you wish, I can refine my search to seek out a particular stone for you, unless you are already satisfied.❞

“Woah woah wait– your creator’s name was Adrian too? Wow!” He seemed to be pretty excited about a simple fact as that, probably enamored by the fact there was an Adrian out there that was smart enough to build a robot that looked exactly like a human. However, he soon furrowed his brow. “You sure ya ain’t pullin’ my leg? I mean.. this all is almost too cool to be true..” It sounded like a prank his coworkers back at the base might play on him.
He thought for a moment. “Y’know, I’m not entirely sure.. I never finished high school an’ I haven’t had a chance to try again. Or.. I’m not sure how the process even works.. Rustboro’s got some pretty good schools there, I might try there first- Though I’d definitely like somethin’ closer to my actual home in Sinnoh.”
He seemed to be amazed yet again at that notion. “Wow.. that’s so neat-” He watches as Ai outlines some spots, his eyebrows raising. “R-really? Oh gosh-” He gripped his tools a bit excitedly as he comes over to inspect one of the spots Ai outlined. If there actually was a cool rock in there, that’d be the ultimate proof that Ai was who he said he was. He was getting giddy just thinking about what sort of rock it was though, if there was one there. He started chiseling away at that section, keeping a careful eye so that he didn’t accidentally damage the rock he was digging up.

Although his facial expression didn’t show it, Ai was actually amused by Adrian’s excitement. Human’s interests and emotions were always fascinating. While he seemed thrilled, others may not have shared the sentiment. ❝Yes. His given name is Adrian, and no, I am not “pulling your leg”. As a stranger I have little motivation to do such a thing. As inprobable as this may seem, it is the truth.❞     Ai immediately began to search the process of returning to school, although figuring he may not want a stranger’s help in the matter, the AI kept the data to himself.  ❝Should you possess the passion and knowledge, I do not foresee you facing much difficulty entering whichever school it is you desire.❞

Image

He took a step back to observe Adrian’s dig, and while he noticed slight flaws in the efficiency of his digging, he AI managed to keep quiet and allowed him to retrieve the evolutionary stones he’d mapped for him. Regardless of whether or not he truly believed Ai to be telling the truth, it didn’t bother him any. The company and conversation in itself was interesting enough.  ❝Would you like for me to seek out more reachable stones?❞

: ⁅ ☣ ⁆ : –   The parasite just looked over at the creature before him. Disgust was written all over his face as he just glared into the other’s eyes. A phone was risen, up high enough for the AI to read the text.
⎾  Sweets should not be soiled with concrete.                                Stranger tastes like concrete
Image

Ai analyzed the words presented to him, the situation making even less sense to him if that was even possible. All he was able to discern from the text was the other likely had figured out he wasn’t human.       ❝You are allowing the fact I am not human cloud your judgment of me even though you do not properly know me? My apologies, but that seems rather rude.❞

: ⁅ ☣ ⁆ : –   Disgusting. That was the only word that the other could think of when it came to this thing in front of the parasite. There was little life in this creature, in the sense that there was barely any natural living substance. Of course there was life, that was why this thing could move and such…but after that, there was nothing.              Crimson colored eyes narrowed as the parasite could only raise his hand and flip the entity off.

The AI became aware, first of the eyes upon him. He glanced over to then take notice of the gesture the stranger was making toward him, not particularly a pleasant one. Curiosity got the better of the AI as he approached the stranger with a curious expression etched on his face.       ❝I do not mean to bother you, but you seem perturbed by my presence. Might I inquire as to why this is? I am unaware as to anything I may have done to insult you.❞

“Really? Oh gosh..” He didn’t think about a person that actually made the A.I. “Woah.. does your creator live in Hoenn? It’d be super cool if I could meet someone like that! They must be super smart-” He tilts his head a bit. “Ah, so like do ya cry an’ sweat an’ stuff too?” He furrowed his brow, looking off a bit. “Actually.. that’s prolly a bit personal, sorry..” He rubbed his neck. “I’m jus’ curious is all- I ain’t ever thought I’d meet an actual robot in my life! Er, one that’s as smart as you anyways- kinda like how they are in the movies.. I thought it’d be more likely I’d meet a legendary pokemon or somethin’.”
He glances over at Ai, now rather curiously watching the other. “Really? A pokemon professor..” He’s only usually seen movies with robots that wanted to destroy mankind or something else, well.. evil. So coming across a robot that helped people and pokemon and even wanted to be a professor was so uplifting. “That’s a good goal! I’m glad you’re helpin’ both people an’ pokemon.. I ah.. Someday I was hopin’ I could be a geologist or somethin’..” He blushes a bit out of embarrassment as he turns his attention back to looking for rocks. He might have been on his way to doing that if he didn’t have to drop out of school.. now he’s in Team Magma and just trying to get by.
Image
He perked up however when Ai mentioned having found some rocks. “Ah- really?? In the walls? You can see through ‘em?” Must be those cool robot powers. Or.. were they programs..? He didn’t know, the whole concept of there being such a human-like robot astounded him. “Ah- I don’t.. usually go diggin’ in the walls for ‘em so I just got a hammer an’ chisel..” He thinks for a moment. “Though if I did that, maybe I’d get ripped..” He pulls his backpack off so he can pull out a hammer and chisel; they weren’t very big and also weren’t super impressive tools since he didn’t have the money to get better ones. They looked best for chipping off small stones. “Dunno how good these’d get into the walls..”

❝Unfortunately, no. My creator, Adrian Dawson, resides in Unova. His intelligence is admirable of course, particularly taking in the fact he was a biological scientist prior to his creation of me.❞ His head tilted to the side when he retracted his question before the AI shook his head. ❝You need not apologize. While the question may receive hesitance from a human, I do not mind speaking of my workings and capabilities. I understand how rare this oppertunity is for you. I do not sweat, instead I possess internal fans to keep my body from overheating, although I do possess the ability to cry.❞      Ai listened to him speak, giving a small nod. With his interest in rocks his desire seemed to make sense. ❝That is not a far-fetched idea. I may face resistance due to being inhuman, but I do not see why you could not see through with your goal. Is there a particular place in which you wish to practice Geology?❞

Image

❝I cannot exactly ‘see through them’, but rather I can identify the difference in components of the rock’s make-up.❞ After analyzing the tools at their disposal and Adrian’s strength, Ai took up a small rock and traced the outline of a few stones he believed the tools to be able to reach. ❝The stones I have outlined are not too deep, you should be able to retrieve them without much difficulty.❞

Avatar
“Ah yeah, I s’pose, sorta like how we don’t really think ‘bout talkin’ huh? We jus’ learn it so soon that we don’t really think ‘bout it.” He straightened up a bit from his rock searching position. “No kiddin’?? Artificial intelligence… a robot huh?” He thought that made sense considering the way the other guy talked and all the things he seemed to know. You could practically see the wheels turning in his mind. Sure, he made a wild guess but he wasn’t expecting to be right. Well… almost right. Aliens and robots are kind of in the same category aren’t they? “Y’look so much like a person..” was all he managed to think of to say.
Image
He felt a little self conscious however, thinking a robot must have better things to do than look for rocks with him in some cave. But at the same time, he was rather flattered that the other did choose to do so. He’ll have to find the coolest rock ever to make sure it was worth it to have such a cool companion with him! With a determined expression he went searching away again, keeping an eye out for any extraordinary rocks. “Do ya regularly check out caves to make sure they’re safe for explorin’?”

A nod was given in response. Although his creator disliekd the AI to be alled a “robot” the phrase didn’t bother him any. Sure, it was a vagueterm taht could compare him witha  coffee maker, but in all technicality, but he was a robot.    Though the other’s lack of response did come as a surprise to him. Most had...some form of extream reaction, either fear or facination, but this was...strange. Was he accustom to this sort of thing? On the other hand, he did already seem to realize that Ai wasn’t a human.

Image

❝My creator’s intent was for me toa ppear as human as possible. Even upon physical contact I will appear human. The only differences bing my internal workings and abilities.❞     Ai proceeded to scan the area for any stones they could find, managing to locate several within the walls. Unfortunately, they hadn’t intended to seek any stones today, so they didn’t possess any tools necissary to extract them. ❝On occasion I venture through caves in order to assure their structural soundness. As I wish to become a Pokemon Professor one day, I do what I am able in order to aid both pokemon and travelers. Do you happen to hold any tools to extract stones from the walls? I have located a few.❞

Anonymous asked:

Was your day any different from normal?

Image

❝Yes, it was.❞ The AI was uncertain as to the question’s purpose, but calculated little risk in answering. ❝I arrived here in Alola an hour and fifteen minutes ago, foolishly having chosen to fly, which is always a...unique experience for one such as myself.❞

“Really? Huh.. guess I never really thought ‘bout it before. That’s a real neat thing for ya to have though I guess.” He tilts his head a bit, curious as to why Ai spoke the way he did, like he wasn’t human himself. “Is there a reason ya sorta talk ‘bout yourself like you’re different than everyone else?” He lowers his voice, as though he’s getting secretive. “Are you.. an alien or somethin’? That’s cool with me if ya are-” he whispers. “It’s okay, I can keep secrets real good.”
He lights up at that comment. “Really? Aw sweet- that spells a formula for a rock jackpot! A.. rockpot!” He’s already begun poking around on the ground and in between stalagmites and boulders looking for anything cool and unusual.” He looks up to Ai. “Oh- that’s cool dude, if ya wanna just lemme know if ya see anythin’ that don’t look normal, just lemme know! The weirder lookin’ it is, the more rare it’s bound to be!”
Image

❝I suppose it could be considered, “neat”, although since I have possessed the skill for nearly all of my existence it is simply second nature to me.❞ An analysis of Adrian’s expression showed he was clearly questioning something, although at this time Ai couldn’t quite put his finger on what, that is until he voiced his inquiry. He really needed to work on keeping his secret, but oh well. Adrian already claimed he didn’t care.  ❝I am not an alien, I am an artificial intelligence, or as you more likely would understand, a robot. Hence my many functions and abilities, and as many note, my speech patterns.❞     The AI simply stared at him briefly at the command. Anything that didn’t look normal? Well...that should be quite simple, although it would yield many...many results. Ai set the command into his glasses, almost immediately seeing results in his glasses’ analysis. Even with the plentiful results, he remained silent, deciding it may be best to allow adrian to search for himself. After all, that seemed to be what he enjoyed. For now, he’d simply narrow his search for the more rare items the cave held, as well as monitoring for wild pokemon or possible dangers.

❝ just thought i would double check. ❞
Keyruka followed behind, swaying her arms forward and back as she did so. Her blue hues would wander, scanning over the area that surrounded them as she listened to him speak.
❝ a professor? the way i see it, anyone can be a professor if they          put the work forth to achieve it! i’m sure you’d make a great professor. ❞
Image

❝In certain ways, I would agree with you. I hold intelligence and curiosity. I would prove to be an efficient scientist and hold the means to aid those who require it. Although there are areas in which I lack. I am still learning “compassion” and other social protocol that prove necissary for a Professor.❞ Not to mention, he wasn’t even human, although he wasn’t sure that was a mandatory requirement.     Ai stopped when they came to the cluster of trees he had found earlier. There was still plenty of fruit for the taking, should she need it.

Man, Ai talked kinda weird for someone who was - oh. Oh maybe Unovan WASN’T his first language? Okay. Don’t pick on him for that, then.
“No, but like. Even if you know where one is doesn’t mean you’ll get there in time before the sun goes down. Pikachu are pretty fast but can you even keep up with him? My slowest is a Munna and even she can out speed me sometimes.”

❝Should my energy be full, I hold the ability to travel swiftly. While my current model may not be able to travel the speed of certain pokemon, I assure you it holds the ability to attain high speeds. Arriving at Pokemon Centers is rarely an issue. Although I care little for arriving before the sun sets. My only need for the Centers is shelter from unfavorable weather, or if my companion requires aid.❞

“Aw, really..? Do ya gotta be born into it then?” Programmed was just another way to say it was hereditary right? He was still getting used to the way this guy talked. “Oh really? Dude, that’d be amazing! I mean if ya don’t mind doin’ somethin’ like that, that is. Remind me to get your number an’ we can meet up sometime and just chill or somethin’. Ya seem like a nice guy.”
He lit up a bit as Ai stepped aside for them. “Oh yeah- Thanks man! C’mon Lavender-” The pokemon chirped and followed after her trainer, who shuffled on forward deeper into the cave. As they got deeper in, he fished a little mini flashlight out of one of the pockets on his shorts so he could see a bit. “I love the formations..” he pondered aloud, looking at some of the stalactites, careful not to shine the flashlight directly on any wild bat pokemon that might be sleeping up there. Lavender busied herself by crawling along the wall and sniffing at the air. She used her supersonic occasionally to ‘see’ further in the cave and watch for hostile pokemon. “I wonder if there’d be any rare stones around? Those’d probably be way deep in huh?”
Image

❝I suppose for a human to possess such a skill, it would have to be bred into them. I am unaware if this is a skill that an be taught. Perhaps if one was exposed to only the speech of pokemon for an extended time, one may better understand the speech of pokemon, much like emerging oneself in another country to learn a language. Although to fully understand pokemon speech for a human, unless born with the ability may be highly unlikely.❞     Ai gave a nod, setting a reminder to give his information to Adrian his contact information prior to taking his leave.  ❝The compliment is greatly appreciated. You too, seem like a nice guy.❞     The AI followed along behind the pair, needing little in the way of flashlights due to his eyes shifting to their night-vision mode, a useful addition for late night travels. It had been a short while since Ai had traversed this tunnel system, glancing around himself to analyze any changes that may have taken place. ❝Depending on your opinion of “rare” stones, we may begin to locate them already. This is a path well hidden, so the common cave-goer will miss the stones in this area, leaving it plentiful for those who seek them. If you would like, I can begin a search for any stone you may desire.❞

SOME DAYS he finds himself craving the mindless background noise of people. This is life and he has to recognise it as a fact no matter how far he’s removed himself from this world. So in between his busy schedule that has him travelling across oceans and continents in the span of days, he takes a seat in a humble looking café and lets it all sink in. He’s in the middle of reading a newspaper, the paper crinkling in hands as he turns each page, when a shadow disturbs the tranquillity of the moment.
“And you thought I’d be interested in conversation in the first place.” He doesn’t even bother in hiding his irritation. This is a reminder on why he prefers the SOLITUDE of his office to a bustling and crowded café. Not only that, but he detests small talk. “What makes you think that you’d have anything to say that I’d want to hear?”
Image

❝Taking in account you had prior been occupied by a newspaper, whether reading it or using it as a sort of shield to deter company, I suppose the likelihood of your interest in conversation would be from five to fifteen percent. That is, if one does not take into account those who may seek attention through the false cover of desiring solitude.❞     The AI gave a small shrug, his expression giving little. ❝Calculating the likelihood of two beings finding at least one common interest approximately ninety-seven to ninety-nine percent. Although locating a common interest could prove difficult, particularly for strangers. We have both come to a cafe, therefore can it be assumed we share similiar taste in venue? I apologize if I speak too much. I am still learning proper conversation etiquette.❞

Impressive. Was all she could think about during Ai’s rambling. While listening close to him she eventually calmed down and was able to turn to face him again, eyebrows raised to signify her awe. She wasn’t too sure how to respond to it and simply thought for a moment. She should be thinking about the game too but really she was thinking about how was it possibly to hold this amount of information over something small as how they played a game. Granted, she met intelligent humans before but this was different. It felt different. Something wasn’t right.
“How.. calculative of you.” Was what she finally said, staring right at the man in front of her, any sign of her previous embarrassment fully gone. “Even I wouldn’t have.. put much thought into this.. I.. guess I have.. no choice but to believe you when you say.. I win, hm..? Or.. do you have.. another theory you wish to.. propose.
Image

He was quiet for a short time, contemplating her question after giving a nod of thanks. It had been meant as a compliment, yes? At least the AI decided to take it that way considering in his opinion, knowledge was an important thing.    ❝I suppose, should the aim of the game be to reach the center first, I would have become the victor, simply due to your slight hesitation near the end. But, another possibility would be that we both had won, if in fact the kiss at the end was to be conceived as a prize of sorts - or if that seems illogical, then perhaps the consumption of the Pocky stick itself could be the prize.❞
