Hey all! Sorry I disappeared, I’ve learned how to make cc (@ameyasims) and got super distracted, tbh. :-x  Also that whole real life thing and still dealing with LongCovid. But, as I’ve been making some prehistoric cc lately (mostly objects, but also some outfits for toddlers & babies) I figured it only made sense to finally update/officially release the Prehistoric CAS database!

I’m going to slowly be going through messages and working on things again, so thank you for your patience//I’m sorry it has taken so long!! <3

Looking for historical sims stories!

I’m making a link list for current and completed HISTORICAL SIMS STORIES, and I need your help!

Please reply/message links!

If possible, please send the link to the beginning or main page for it, rather than just the most recent post-- but if that’s all you can do that’s fine too! :)

Thank you! <3

HI folks! Sorry it’s been so long since the next installment of the cc database! Summer with kiddo took priority. But now he’s back to his dad’s for the school year (</3) so I will have entirely too much time on my hands again so I will get back to working on that (and catching up on messages) again soon!

Content Request

If anyone knows of any posts about historic simming with non-white/European sims, PLEASE send me a link. And if anyone out there is knowledgeable enough and has enough time to generously donate time/effort into writing such things, please link me!

Some topics I’m consciously yearning for (but PLEASE send/write posts about anything else, too!):

  • Clothing/Fashion, Hair
  • Social Norms/differences
  • Architecture/Interior Design
  • Common names/naming conventions
  • Family structure & dynamics
  • Relevant CC

Let’s make historical simming inclusive and more knowledgeable!

People of color have always existed in both American and European contexts, so sims of color should too. Let’s make sure we don’t whitewash our saves!

(Definitely looking for info relevant to simming in non-Anglo/European locations too!!)

Thanks for all the likes, reblogs, and follows on/from the Historical CC Database posts!

I hope you are finding/will find this project useful! I’m still working on a bunch more pages at the moment, with many more to follow! As a reminder, volunteers are always welcome!

~~~~~~~~~
Other than the HccD, I still want to make round-up type posts that will be useful for historical simmers, so please comment or send a message and let me know what kinds of posts/round-ups you’d find useful!
~~~~~~~~~

One new round-up series I’m about to start is making THIS MONTH'S HISTORIC CC RELEASES post at the end of each month, but as I got this idea & started collecting it in the middle of the month, and as it’s unlikely I can catch every single one anyway, if you’re a creator who sees this, please link/tag me (in comments on send a message) in anything historical you have (or will!) release this month! (and in future months!)

And non-creators are certainly welcome to send me links/tag me as well so I can try to gather as many as possible! :)

The second page of the Historical CC database is up!

Because there’s relatively little prehistoric cc out there I was able to put all the clothes + accessories on one page, hooray! As always, if you have anything to add, or update/correct, please let me know via those links, or send me a message.

Don’t forget to also check out the Victorian Clothing CC Database Page!

& Shout out to my partner for figuring out how to de-squish the photos!

Please reblog to get the word out! <3

GRAND OPENING: The first page of the TS4 Historical HQ CC Database Project!

Notes:

  • This is still a WIP, and will always be in that I hope we can continue to keep it updated!
  • I know many/most of the pictures are ugly!squished. My partner is currently trying to help me find the easiest/aesthetically acceptable solution. (Advice/suggestions welcomed!)
  • Yes, eventually there will be pages for ALL eras, and pages for hair & accessories, as well as pages for historical mods & bb stuff too.
  • -> If you’re interested in helping collect cc links, plug the links into the html code, or otherwise volunteer, please let me know!!

Also please send me a message if:

  • you have any updates for any of the cc (i.e. broken cc, broken links, retired creator, new versions, etc)
  • you have corrections or additions to any of my categories. I’m not a fashion historian at ALL so I eagerly welcome anyone that can help me put more pieces into the correct period/decade!

.

  • you know of more Victorian era (here defined as 1840-1899) clothing cc that I didn’t include!
  • -> And if you know it, please LMK what categories it should fall under (what decade or early/mid/late Victorian, etc).
  • -> -> If you don’t know that’s okay, it will just save me time when I’m dealing with hundreds upon hundreds of pieces of cc. :)
  • -> if YOU have cc that should be included, please tell me what periods of Victorian/decades it would fit (or at least date the item you used as reference if at all possible?)
  • -> -> and if you use the same layout code on your simblr, PLEASE send me a message / pastebin link of the code for those items so I don’t have to spend hours re-entering the url/img src/title etc.
  • -> -> HUGE thanks to @vintagesimstress for doing this and saving me hours!!! <3

.

  • and finally: if you have any other ideas or comments that can help make this page/project maximally useful for us all!

De-modernize Your Gameplay

DEATH TO CELL PHONES! (but only in the sims!!)

I made this list before the ecogeddon patch, so please let me know if any of these no longer work. And definitely let me know if you have anything to add! <3

Basics:

Cell Phones & Computers:

Townies:

  • Copy Everyday Outfit (Helps when dressing townies)
  • MC Command Center (MCCC) - For many things, including using the dresser feature to help quickly and easily dress your townies.
  • SimSpawn Overhaul - Keep your sims from wandering other worlds, reduces sim spawning in weird outfits, service sims will always be homeless, and more.

As always, please let me know if anything is broken/out of date, or if you have suggestions of things to add to this list! :)

CALL FOR CC LINKS!

I’m working on compiling cc links for different time periods. The goal is to make it easier to be (mostly!) historically accurate in historical saves. Obviously we’re working within plenty of limitations so I’m not going for strict accuracy, but getting as close as we can with what limited historical cc is out there.

I’m no fashion/architectural/domestic historian (i wish tho), nor do I have a secret database of all historical cc (if I did I wouldn’t keep it secret!), so I need your help!

Please reply, DM, or tag me in, links to historically appropriate cc for the following to start, with what year/decade they’re from if you know it!

  • Pioneer Farming (approx 1850 - 1899)
  • The American West (1865 - 1900)

Extra bonus points for historically appropriate cc for sims of color!

Yesterday i read on twitter that the TS4 Eco-Lifestyle gameplay doesn’t add up anything to the Historical simmer gameplay so, today i made a thread on Twitter pointing out how many things we historical simmers can do with The Base game “Off the Grid” update and the Eco theme gameplay and how this pack can be a staple for Historical Simmers.

1.-  Candle Making Craft table.

Candles are a staple for the historical vibes on a Pre - Electricity time period. Light up all your tudors, cabins and castles with candles. Keep your sims crafting and making their own candles or buy some on the town store. Soy Wax is not historically accurate? Grab your wax from the Seasons Bee Box.

2.- Fizzing Juice Machine

Carbonated drinks have been a thing since the late XVIII century. Also, are we going to forget that carbonated drinks were used and prescribed by doctors as a medicine?

The famous Coca Cola was patented as a “temperance drink” medicine in 1885. On the same year Dr Pepper patented their recipe as a energy Drink.

Yes, The equipment might looks too modern but I think us modder and CC makers can work on that.

3.- Dumpster Diving and recycling.

Back on Victorian Days, big cities were drowning in dirt and trash, so there were places called “Dusting Yards” that people worked separating dirt, cloth, bones, cinder, horse poop, and recycling them into  raw materials for other purposes.

Dirt and Cinder were transformed on bricks, Horse Poop with a little of the same cinder was transformed into fertilizer, On the cloth and rags you could find buttons still attached and good condition buttons were valuables. Bones were cleaned and boiled till death to make gelatine based dishes.

We still have to figure out how to find a substitute for the Dumpster and the recycling machine. But gameplay wise it’s perfect to set a “Dusting Yard” on the Quarry lot were sims go straight to “Dumpster Diving” and find some goodies on the trash.

4.- The “Off the Grid"

The “Off the Grid” re-worked base game Lot trait allows you to stop any electric item to work (again, perfect for pre-electricity times), Also, you can gather water from any well, fishing pond, body of water and  fountains and use the water for luxurious bath tubs baths and flushing stinking toilets.

And, you can "Add Ice” to off the grid working fridges, so your Victorians households can have their own “Victorian Boxes” on their kitchens.

5.- N.A.P.S

Now, let’s talk about Neighborhood Actions Plans. You can change the whole neighborhood dynamics with this tool. You want to create a 1960’s-70 hippie cult-ish Comune? Add the “Free Love”, “Green Gardening”, “Sharing is Caring” and “Promote creative arts” to the neighborhood.

Maybe your thing is the 1920’s. Add “Back to the old days” N.A.Ps to add a Prohibition temperance law on the neighborhood followed by “Juiced community” and “Rhoughhousing encourage” for those clandestine wild Speakeasies on town.

Or simply farming life on the Medieval times? Use “Green Gardening” and “Self Sufficiency” your whole neighborhood will start to garden their farms and you’ll find fishers on the most popular spots.

In Conclusion, Eco Lifestyle has an array of interesting tools that can be adapted to a good, entertaining and kinda challenging Historical Gameplay just have to be a little creative and find some CC version of the objects that came with the game to enjoy a nice and NOT anacronistic game.
