this is the only thing i’ll say on who inspired the songs because it’s not the point of the album, but in the end i think joe and matty are far more alike than we could ever know & that’s why the songs hurt so bad- the same kind of person wrecked her twice

i love this album because for the first time in maybe her entire career she's not apologising for a single thing. the album is angry and raw and she's like "here's this chapter of my life, the sad, the bad, the terrible and it's all raw and fucking angry for you all to see and i don't need absolution for a single thing" like she's not asking forgiveness for a single thing from anyone and that's what makes the album so fucking heartbreaking

I’m almost wondering if this is the exact reason why there are people who are being incredibly dramatic about their dislike for the album. Because there’s not liking an album, not really seeing it as your thing, and then there’s how some people are reacting. And I’m wondering if it’s because they realize that this is her “I’m tired of taking your fucking shit” album And she’s not apologizing anymore. The pathological people pleaser has left the building. Now she’s calling us out, she’s Joe calling out, she’s calling Matty out, she’s calling Fucking Kim Kardashian out. She’s literally writing lyrics about how her saint of a mother wanted another woman dead. This isn’t rainbows and butterflies and Lover house. This is pissed off, moving forward with or without you, Taylor. And I, for one, love that for her. I don’t want pathological people pleaser, I want scorched earth and that’s what she’s giving LOL
