I am! just not very interested in this blog as much as I was, I still love demon slayer I've just found it hard to finish anything I start writing. I want to but I just can't ever find it in me, a lot of my focus is primarily on my other blogs :(

I had a bit of motivation when the new season came out but it kinda just disappeared. I hope I'm not disappointing anyone

a/n: hello, I haven't posted in quite some time!! technically I wrote this a while ago as the raffle prize for @sparklytamaki but finally came round to posting it (it didn't get posted here for a few reasons but I remembered I could just tweak it and it'd be all good). so I hope you all don't mind me sharing this so late, I'm hoping to get back in writing on here soon <33

summary: Giyuu is a hard worker, but it sometimes feels like he values his job over you more. you want to make an effort to be around each other more

The house felt quiet, a feeling that you’d grown used to at this time of day. The sound of the tv playing was faint, loud but the sound of only your steps seemed much louder. A show played mindlessly as you stood in front of your mirror, switching between the two dresses you’d considered for the date. The sound of the clock ticking loudly played in the back of your mind. Giyuu was staying late at work tonight, already cutting into the few hours he managed to get to spend with you. Yet, you intended to indulge in the time you get with him.

Your heart felt heavy these days and you couldn’t help it. You’d picked up as many skills as you could during your free time while home alone, testing them out only to forget about them hours later. Disinterest wasn’t the problem, you liked them, you just felt lonely and no matter what you did. Loneliness wrapped around you like thorned vines, painful and hard to get rid of. And it became all you could focus on while you waited for him to return home.

You didn’t mean to sound clingy but you wished for more time with him, not late nights when he comes home and is practically on autopilot. He’d never been so talkative but there was a happiness you felt in his presence. His love wasn’t direct and it took a bit of learning to notice, such as catching his longing stares when he fell just a little bit more in love with you. Or the soft feeling of his lips kissing your knuckles when he’d wish you goodbye before work. Cooking dinner with him or cuddling up on the couch were all things that seemed to be slipping between your fingers like sand as he gets more and more caught up with work. You felt ignored, lonely and pushed aside for him to go fill out papers for hours on end.

Jingling of keys and the creak of the old door rips you from your thoughts and you’re cheerily rushing from your room to greet him, hiding your outfit behind the door for a surprise. Giyuu places the keys down on the counter and drops his bag, perking up as you call out his name. “Giyuu! They let you go early?” You question as you throw your arms around him, leaning in to steal a kiss that is less excitedly reciprocated. You didn’t think much of it, still giving him time to finally switch out of “work-mode” so you could enjoy the date tonight.
