The ao3 collection is finally here! Sorry for the delays, had some health concerns that threw me off for a bit but all is well now.
The prompt list for Kinktober 2023 is here! As always, we will be creating an ao3 collection, closer to the event. If people are unable to see the pinned prompt list, there are three things that they may need to do, as it is properly flagged as mature content:
1. Make sure that you have set your birthday in your account's user settings. Mature content can only be viewed once you've affirmed to Tumblr that you're over 18 years old.
2. After setting your birthday, make sure that both "Mature Content" and "Sexual Themes" are set to "Visible" rather than "Hide" under Community Labels, also in Account Settings. (They default to "Hide". You need to tap "Hide" and set it to "Visible"; in the mobile app, Tumblr purposely makes it seem like tapping "Hide" will hide the labelled content, but it actually opens a menu to set your preference. It's more straightforward in the web browser.)
3. Make sure that "Hide Additional Potentially Mature Content" is toggled off. Also found under Community Labels, Tumblr says this setting only applies to, and effects, the iOS app (as far as I can tell it isn't even visible in the Android app, but can be toggled on and off via the Tumblr website in your mobile browser regardless of your phone's operating system). I don't trust them, though, so why not just turn it off to make sure you have access to all of the horny!
Anyway, Tumblr sure makes it difficult to see the awesome stuff, and I hope this helps you to correct their insultingly puritanical default corporate position! Let your freak flag fly and let's have a great Kinktober 2023!

Hey! This will be my first Kinktober, finally. I finally feel like I’m in a space to do that much writing… lol. Anyways, question! For kinks where there’s two listed in one spot, do you have to include both? Example being, day 1 having leather & latex together in one slot. Could I write only leather, or only latex? Thanks!
Those are just kinks similar enough we include them both as one. That's actually one from the original original list from the first year, before we took over! But, yeah, just one!
The 2023 ao3 collection will come in September this year. Seeing as you can't even draft fics for October yet there's no point in having one open right now. Please stop flooding the ask box, it'll get here when it gets here, it's taking its time

Once again, the theme of the event is multi-colored hair and multshipping. The basic idea is that you pick one character to center around, and every day, you create a fanwork about them with a different character.
Day one would be red, day two would be orange, day three would be yellow/blonde, day four would be green, day five would be blue, day six would be purple, and day seven would be a color of your choice, be it pink, white, brunnete, etc. Or, if you know a character with indigo hair as well, you shuffle them in on day six and put purple on day seven. You’re allowed to define colors how you want to, or mix up with signature instead of hair color if need be.
There aren’t many rules, and it’s a super casual affair. There will be an ao3 collection open for submissions during the selected dates, and that is the only way to submit. If you do not have an ao3 account, you can sign up for free, and I would suggest doing so as soon as possible, as there can be a wait time.
The only things that will not be permitted in the collection are any works depicting real people (rpf) and anything promoting irl hatespeech. Other than that, go hog wild.
Works should be posted concurrently for one week during the selected dates but if you can’t do it all in one week, as long as it done within those dates.
The dates for this event are August 27th-September 30th, which gives five weeks to do your own rainbow week submission!
I used the 2022 prompt list (thank you by the way, loved every minute of it) for a fanfic on Ao3, I have it added to a Kinktober 2022 collection, but I don't know if it is the correct one. Will you please verify the name of your 22 Ao3 collection for me please?

Like coming from someone who likes and writes noncon and gore I get it bc people can be really weird and aggressive. But come on??? I'm personally still excited for your prompt list, but yk.
No, they said that fandom waters down meanings and that I should be aware lolisho is (insert VERY disrespectful term for csem here). The legality issue came up but calling it literal csem is NOT something I'm ever ever EVER going to respond politely to.
They absolutely one hundred percent said that lolisho was equivalent to that sort of content. If me telling them to learn the difference between fiction and reality is rude I actually, full stop, do not care. They weren't coming from a place of good faith, I don't have to give someone giving false accusations the benefit of the doubt.
If someone is passive aggressive, they get passive aggression or outright aggression in return. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, and if you're uneducated, it's not my job to hold your hand and explain it.
Not to mention, more often than not, those types of questions are bait to get people to send long responses defending themselves, just so the people who disagree can have a field day trying to pick it apart. It's just not worth it when they aren't going to listen. They believe what they believe.
Also, respectfully, you don't see the inside of our ask box or the other messages that same anon sent after I had ignored the original message.

I promise you that you do not HAVE to do this Kinktober, we have like 50+ copycats every year, do one of those. This is just a prompt list, we don't share any of the submissions on this blog or the twitter.
But I literally cannot keep responding to these constant bitchings, cos I'm two seconds from responding to everything with "eat my ass ❤️" and that isn't helpful for anyone.
I just wanted to express my support with you guys. I had a lot of fun every time I participated and at times actively embrace dead dove topics.
People who cannot divide between fiction and reality and use their tilted perception to harass others are honestly a really annoying development in fandom, and I can only hope it will not stop you from doing what you do. You are appreciated - and since all prompts are free and you even provide back-up prompts for topics we cannot or will not touch, you are really already doing a lot to keep everyone comfortable.

I had been before that and will be going forward. I try really hard not to be confrontational on this event since it's supposed to be hands off. For a while we tried to do no interaction at all to be like. Hidden ghost mods who just drop a list and run
