Managing the bar at one of the busiest clubs in downtown Mitras leaves little room for distraction; always surrounded by a sea of shadowed faces, drunken shouts and floor-thumping bass that serves to drown everything else out - even Levi's very own thoughts.
“You gonna stay here and bust my balls all night, Commander?”
Until Erwin Smith joins the queue, ordering him around as if he owns the place, then suddenly distraction is all Levi knows.
Or, five times Erwin visits Levi at work, and the one time Levi visits Erwin's.

B4 ACWNR Levi was just surviving for the sake of survival but erwin gave him something to LIVE for something to THRIVE for something to FIGHT for and the way I imagine Levi reveres him for this makes me wanna thrash around and cry a little
So while erwin gave levi something to fight for levi was something to fight with…
evi was this mythical being who was seen as a way for him to get closer to his dream, but he was more than a tool because he willingly fought for Erwin’s dream. A tool that erwin grew to harbor deep respect and fondness for because Levi is able to understand how it feels to have people’s lives rely on you, from experience.
Sometimes I think about Kenny’s spiel about finding a reason to live or something that gives you purpose and I would like to think that erwin came to Levi’s mind in that moment.

Seeing the “wings of freedom” for the last time, and seeing it showing Levi while fading out, can tell you a lot.
Levi represented the “wings of freedom” from the very beginning.
He is a symbol of hope, strength, and freedom. He is strong, free and never was a slave for something or someone, even when he was living in the underground city, in a place that was full of criminals and people -majority of them- have no dignity or morals and do anything in order to survive; he was free, strong, having morals and principles.
You can see what Levi represents, all in the way Erwin looked at him there.
Hope, strength, and freedom.
