this is a positivity post for masculine trans people.

shoutout to masculine transmascs/trans men. Your masculinity is not evil, it is not bad, it is not toxic. You are allowed to be happy finally getting to be masculine. You are allowed to want a deeper voice, or facial hair, or to look stereotypically masculine. You do not have to be a 'softboi'; that aesthetic is only for people who want it.

shoutout to masculine transfems/trans women. Your masculinity is not evil, it is not 'faking your transness', you do not owe anyone femininity just because of your gender. You are allowed to present masculine and still speak up when you're misgendered; it's not 'your fault', and being a masculine transfem is wonderful.

shoutout to masculine trans people who aren't transfem or transmasc; you deserve to have your gender and pronouns respected even if your gender isn't masculine. You are not bad being masculine. you are allowed to be masculine, and your masculinity is good.

Masculine trans people are not bad, they not scary, and they deserve love and respect.

Please return us to a world where Notp and squick are used for a ship you don’t like instead of just making up a load of bullshit about how immoral it is or w/e lol

a short selection of concepts and phrases that used to be commonplace in fandom and we’d really benefit from making that a thing again:

NOTP: the opposite of an OTP (One True Pairing). It is a ship a fan strongly dislikes. The word is a portmanteau of ‘no’ and ‘OTP’ and thus is not a contraction of any particular phrase.

Squick: anything that is a deep-seated, visceral turn-off. Squicks may be shared by many fans or be specific to one; one person’s kink may be another person’s squick.

YKINMKATO, or kink-tomato: Your Kink Is Not My Kink, And That’s Okay: used to indicate support for fannish diversity and to distinguish between disapproval or kink shaming and simply having different taste.

DLDR: Don’t Like, Don’t Read: a phrase used to warn against complaints about an aspect of fic or meta. A “live and let live” philosophy of fandom, which places the responsability for avoiding content one doesn’t want to see on the side of the fanwork consumer, rather that on the creator’s.

SALS: Ship And Let Ship: similar to the above specifically about shipping tastes.

YMMV: Your Mileage May Vary: a phrase used to acknowledge that any given individual’s personal opinion on the topic at hand may differ due to their own tastes, standards, values, experiences, etc.

As the OP points out, all of these crucially imply no moral judgment of what they’re designing.

(definitions lifted more or less wholesale from fanlore’s relevant pages)

How to Ride a Werewolf

Now remember, a lady rides sidesaddle, NOT astride. Your mother would be in hysterics at the very idea that a daughter of hers would ride a werewolf astride! Why, next you’ll be showing ankle…

That’s not how you ride a werewolf ill show you how to ride a werewolf !!

I'm sad to see this little comic resonates with so many people, although I hope it gives you strength and solidarity in difficult times. Likewise, thank you for your comments and insights in the tags. It helps me feel less alone.

Also, hello new followers! If you followed me for this sort of thing, prepare to be very, very disappointed hahaha

You know we only ever really "learn" how to bathe in our youth as it is taught to us by our parents and from then on most people kinda just bathe the same way right. And like barring actively deciding to do it the only way most people change their bathing habits is if they bathe with a loved one and get convinced to do somethi g different in the bath bc its cleaner/faster/whatever bc of them. Ok heres the thesis statement. The lack of communal bathing in society is holding us back from discovering The Ultimate Bathing

anyone else need to know the ultimate bathing now?

Cannot emphasise how OBSESSED i am with the Doctor being able to hear the show's backing music. Does he have favourites? Does he ever miss the funky classic who tunes?

Its giving Day of the Doctor novelisation, where the Doctor's vision changed when the show's colour grading did.

I love whenever they make allusions to the 4th wall or skirt near it. 1st Doctor talking to the people at home. 4th Doctor's laugh at the camera. 12th Doctor's monologues and playing of the Theme tune. Its all so wonderful.

But to put it in the forefront. To literally have him say " I Thought that was non-diegetic " (music not actually present in the world and only for the audience) to have him WINK at us.

Obsessed is too weak a word for what I'm feeling right now. I love them

@whycellothurr STOP BEING SO RIGHT YOU'RE MAKING ME SOB

Not just this though. Imagine every moment.

Imagine 10 hearing Doomsday and knowing theres no going back. Later hearing Rose's theme just before he see's her in Stolen Earth. Hearing the music cut out.

The way they must accociate their companions with their themes as much as we do.

Amelia's theme playing as he leaves her in the Garden. Playing again as he gives her that apple. Hearing it again and again and again... Hearing it for a last time as he reads her note in Angel's Take Manhatten.

Speaking of Clara, you first hear her theme in Asylum of the Daleks. He hears that humanity as he leaves her to die. It must have been nagging at his mind in The Snowmen. Why is she so familiar? Not just her face. The theme starts up again as he gives her the key. He doesn't quite remember, not yet. (The music is quieter now, after she fell, she's fading.) But he remembers when he see's her names. (That sound, the souffles, how did he not see it sooner!) When he finds her again? He saves her and her music is so loud and vibrant.

Later, does Twelve learn to accociate Clara with her music if not her face? He surely has a great connection to music. Maybe its easier to tell apart friend and foe when faces don't come naturally. Even when she's gone he remembers that tune. Breaking my heart in two actually.

These are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Thank you for putting this into my head. There are SO many moments that it makes even more devastating.
