At first I got angry...but then noticed the usernames.

What is the probability that two users with stereotypical American male names + random numbers, who instantly reblog from each other, are real people? I say pretty darn low. Even though their blogs seem genuine at first glance, I think they are bots aimed specifically at the US audience. I think they either real people (=russian employees) or, most likely, AI. They would probably argue with you and hold the conversation pretty well if you tried to talk to them.

Be mindful people, we live in crazy times. Safer not to get into any arguments online, bots or not.

Yes, actually, in Red Hood Lost Days #6 they did sleep together. To me, it felt borderline like statutory rape on Talia's part. There is, of course, something to be said about the difference between illegal and immorale. She knew him as a kid, raised him to some extent, and patiently waited until he turned 18. That's text book grooming, but that isn't illegal. It feels out of character of her pre-retcon, but is compatible with with her actions post-it. The problem with there being many writers for a single character is their different takes melting into one big inconsistent pot. She was loving, motherly, kind and protective at one point. She and Bruce's love was genuine and they had Damian consensually, abeilt with out Bruce's knowledge. And then, as yet another victim of oriantalism and the persistent need for shock value, they made her a rapist, a groomer and an abusive mom. Bruce doesn't grapple with unknowingly being sexually abused, Jason doesn't struggle with sleeping with a mother figure, and Damian doesn't confront being the product of rape. This was essentially for nothing but a spur of the moment, sensationalist "she did not!" reaction from the public. This oversight diminishes Talia as a character, effectively disappointing the fans who viewed her as a nurturing, kind-hearted woman.

About the AO3 "No Guest Comments for a while" warning

If you're not following any of AO3's social media accounts you might be in the dark as to what kind of "spam comments" have engendered this banner at the top of the site:

These spam comments have been posted about a great deal on the AO3 subreddit for the past couple of days. Initially they comprised a bunch of guest (logged out users) bot comments that insulted authors by suggesting they were using AI and not writing their own fics. Some examples, from the subreddit:

But it then escalated to outright graphic porn images and gifs being posted in comments, again by logged out 'Guest' accounts. Obviously, I'm not going to give examples of those, but between these two bot infestations, AO3 has clearly decided to act and has temporarily closed the ability to post comments for users who are not logged in with an AO3 account.

Unfortunately, this means that genuine readers who don't have an AO3 account won't be able to leave comments on fics that they enjoy.

If you are a genuine reader who doesn't yet have an AO3 account, I strongly suggest getting yourself on the waiting list for one. More and more AO3 authors are now locking their fics down to registered users only - either due to these bot comments or concerns about AI scraping their work - which means you're probably missing out on a lot of great stuff.

Hopefully guest commenting will be enabled again at some point soon, but I suggest not waiting until then. Get yourself on that list.

Wait times are going to be longer than usual at the moment, due to the current Wattpad purge [info on Fanlore | Wattpad subreddit thread], but if you're in line, then your invite will come through eventually.

Obsessed by this statue I saw today in Le Havre (France) from the Italian sculptor Fabio Viale. The design isn't painted on... The ink is injected inside the marble like a real tattoo. And if I remember correctly what the guide said, it took the artist three weeks to do just that.

So I looked this guy up because I wanted to know if he was contemporary or not because I'd heard that no one was really able to work marble in the ways of the 'old masters', but this guy is incredible! He's only 47, and beyond these incredible pigment tattoo sculptures, he's done some wack stuff with marble!

This fic is canon compliant with the comics version of UtRH. For those who have actually read the arc, you can probably guess that this story is going to be very, very anti-Bruce Wayne.

It also deals a lot with rape recovery and aftermath. Both Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon are canonically rape survivors; in the context of Jason Todd being trans and a victim of the Joker's violence, he is, too. Their assaults are not explicitly discussed but all three of them deal with it in very different ways.

I don't have all of the fic planned out so I might need to add tags for stuff that comes up. PLEASE CHECK THE TAGS REGULARLY, and read the notes at the start of each chapter.

And finally, I'm stretching the timeline a little. "How to Be A Robin" happens in the late 90's; this story happens in the mid-00's, but it's only been 3 years since Jason died. Shhh, shhh, comics. *waves hands*
