My interpretation of The Joxter and Snufkin for a kofi! Pretty average I think - Snuf takes a little more after the Mymble at his age to me, but would get more creature when he gets older ( He'll also be taller than Joxter bc I'm a huge Mymble truther)

unrequited love for siblings is the saddest thing you could ever portray on its own but over the garden wall said what if the kid is like the sweetest most kindhearted five year old you could imagine and he loves his brooding wistful bitch of an older brother sooo so much and enough to offer up his life in exchange for his brothers when his older brother saw him this whole time as just an annoying step sibling at best and a nuisance at worst and you cant be too mad cause hes also a kid and then when he finally figures it all out it saves them both, the decision to leave lethargy and the rot of melancholy behind and take the love he already has as proof the world is worth it after all and aaa a a. aaaaaa. aaaaaaa. aaa. what a sweet story. what a lovely thing.

I think one of the most disgusting things ever is how real concerns about aphobia and its effects have been reduced in so many queer spaces to 'cringy ace discourse' to an extent that I cannot discuss the very real aphobia I experience without getting some fucking 13-14 year old who has never picked up a book on queer history once in their fucking life telling me my lived experiences aren't real and we're trying to 'invade their community'.

And even a lot of other non-exclusionist queer people are too cowardly to speak out against it or say they "don't care about the ace discourse".

How fucked up is that? Can you imagine taking that stance on any other issue of bigotry? "Oh I don't care about race discourse" or "oh I don't care about gay discourse". Somebody who did that would rightfully be called out on bullshit! Can you imagine somebody posting they're "not pro or anti gay people, I don't engage with that silly discourse uwu"

to add to what shara is saying, something about it continually being called "discourse" and not what it is, aphobia, rubs me the wrong way. Like to me it makes it very clear that that is all people see it as. "its not a big deal" "it's just discourse I don't want to deal with" ect ect. Which points to the big issue that is so many people don't think that ace or aro people face the same amount, if any, discrimination from the general public. Which, obviously, is ludicrous. Asexuality was o o readily accepted other identities, would turn around in the same breath and say that anyone who identified as asexual or aro needed to be institutionalized. it's so strange and messed up to just water down aphobia and discrimination to "ace discourse", and it's frustrating to see tumblr start to participate in it again without realizing an ounce of the hypocrisy they seem keen to spread or ignore.

Yeah, I'm adding to this because I do feel you're hitting the nail on the head better than I was. You're saying what I was trying to say, though I was very clumsy in my wording lol.

The overt aphobia, I can handle. Like, it's no different from what I face in real life. It's no different from my dad telling me maybe conversion therapy or 'being raped' would fix my asexuality. Or my doctor wanting to change the dosages on my perfectly working medication that's literally keeping me alive because she's concerned with my asexuality being a side effect and clearly that's a bigger problem than MY LITERAL HEALTH. Or the housing agency writing my and my QPPs relationship down as 'girlfriends' in quotation marks and noting that clearly we're confused about our sexuality. Or the dozens of people I'd otherwise consider friends who instantly suggest maybe my asexuality can be cured if I just... open up and have sex. And how can I know I don't feel attracted to people if I'm a virgin, that's definitely how it works /s

"Sex is a universal human desire."

"You're not human."

That's fine. I've dealt with this. It's whatever.

The thing that gets me is that this discussion has been railroaded by exclusionists into 'ace discourse'.

Nobody really cares about 'ace discourse'. 'Ace discourse' is something you're only invested in when you're chronically online or a dumb teenager. We have Real Issues to solve. And now even otherwise progressive queer spaces regard these matters as something that isn't really worth addressing. People proudly say they 'don't take a stance' or 'don't engage with that discourse' or 'both sides have points, I don't want to get involved in the discourse'.

BUT ITS NOT FUCKING DISCOURSE. It's not some fandom debate or silly online thing nobody in the real world is faced with and "oh maybe if u care about ace discourse you need to go outside and touch some grass" - nice, last time I went outside with a visual ace pride pin on me, I got cussed out. Fuck you.

Exclusionists benefit SO MUCH from making aphobia and acearo issues out to be 'stupid discourse'. And so many people are either going along with it willingly or just naively enforcing it.

"There isn't a single hamster species that can be kept in group in captivity, they're all solitary creatures"

No, you've just gotten all your info from pet stores and maybe the fucking internet, I guess? Absolutely do not buy hamsters at a pet store and keep them in groups please for the love of god but also maybe realize that the way humans have interacted with domesticated rodents is not representative of those species in a general sense. There are plenty of examples of hamsters of various species who do better in groups even in captivity (zoos or sometimes on a home-to-home basis)

I promise I'm still a fandom blog (technically) this is just something I've been personally involved with through conservation efforts and rescues for 15 years I don't need some rando on the internet who clearly thinks there are only like four hamster species on this planet to pretend like they're an expert LMAO
