If possible, merman!Akashi x human!Kuroko pretty pleaseee ;;v;;

I apologise for taking so long. Here you go!(pardon the sloppy work)

So basically, humans and mermaids co-exist but never interacted with each other.Kuroko somehow saw Akashi and fell in love with him at first sight, but because they speak different languages, he couldn’t get Akashi’s attention.(I would say that Akashi’s language is like songs… or chimes).

So what Kuroko do is to write his emotions onto a piece of paper, stuff it into a glass water and let the waves carry it to possibly Akashi, in hope that he could catch Akashi’s attention.

I hope this is up to your expectations, anon.

Sherlock Holmes AU in which Akashi is the stunning but esoteric detective who simply couldn’t go on without his dear Kuroko, the level-headed army doctor who chronicles his stories and pretends he has a wife in his stories so it isn’t suspicious how they’re absolutely inseparable and devoted to each other

Here to talk again (` - `)/

There’s something that always caught my attention in KnB. That is, the way Kuroko is shocked by Oreshi’s return - almost to a comical extent:

I mean, during their second game with Touou, Kuroko expresses a wish to Kagami that Aomine would return to his old self:

So why not Akashi? Kuroko does warn Seirin that Akashi’s second ability might reappear:

But even then, he undercuts it as “just being Midorima’s theory:”

Kuroko never says anything about Akashi’s personality possibly reverting. But why does it never occur to him that Oreshi could return?

Let’s rewind to the points where Aomine and Akashi change. Their reasons for doing so are very different: For Aomine, basketball loses its appeal, and being the thing he loves most, he’s deeply hurt to find himself falling out of love with it. For Akashi, basketball is the only connection he has to his friends - the only people who care about him. His father is cold at best, even saying that Akashi can’t be considered a part of the family unless he excels enough:

Basketball is Akashi’s only escape from this pressure

Akashi’s problems are much more complex long-term. Even if Kuroko can fix basketball for Akashi, he still has to deal with an overwhelming home life (and the psychological issues that accompany it). ((Interestingly, this shows that a) Midorima and Kuroko met up at one point to discuss Akashi’s condition and b) implies that Midorima divulged enough about Akashi at this point for Kuroko to know this, since Akashi doesn’t talk about his personal life and the only person who would know this is a childhood friend. /forever sad we never got to see this scene/))

This makes Kuroko’s silent worry over Akashi in their game much more poignant. Notice that Kiyoshi has to remind Kuroko to keep his head in the game – the first time Kuroko ever has to be reminded that the game comes first (even in his game with Aomine, he only lost his cool when it seemed like he would lose; here, he’s distracted by something that benefits Seirin):

Even then, he can’t stop worrying, to the point that Kagami calls out to him:

But Kuroko doesn’t notice, continuing to stare at Akashi:

The last time Akashi lost at anything, he entered a massive psychotic break. For all that Kuroko knows, he’s making things worse. And yet, he has no choice but to forge on – certainly, losing to Akashi wouldn’t change anything. Winning is all he can think of to try to recreate the safe space that basketball used to be for all of them.

And yet, he has no idea how Akashi will react upon losing. Even as Akashi approaches him after the match, Kuroko shows some trepidation over his reaction:

It isn’t until they’re shaking hands, smiling and crying, that they’re finally on the same page emotionally:

Perdiendo, fanfic AkaKuro
