Perhaps all that time he had spent with Georgina wasn’t a complete and utter waste afterall for it turns out, he had actually picked up a thing or two on hypnotism. He was no professional so whatever he had managed to do could probably be easily reversed (however he had managed to do it) but he was proud of himself nonetheless – not only that but it was still a pretty solid spell for what it was worth and if Georgina were still around, she would more than likely be furious with him for stealing the trick and that idea amused him greatly which made this all the more fun.

On a less spiteful note, he had yet again managed to get some lucky lady to fall head over heels for him – and not just any lady. This was none other than Kit Snicket and while he was thrilled to watch a Fire Fighter “break the rules” and scramble around to attempt to cover it up, deep down he couldn’t help but feel… happy? …Delighted? No, those words were far too intense. Damn it. Where was Lemony when he needed him with those stupid know-it-all definitions?!

Count Olaf was all too aware that the feelings were false but in a way, it was almost like getting a second chance – like he could change something… somehow. Even if he didn’t plan on doing the right thing here either. Whatever the case, he’d make the most out of what he got. This was Count Olaf, afterall. And while he was always one to plan ahead, he also did a decent amount of improvisation which meant the majority of his plans failed and that there was a large chance that this one would fail as well and he wasn’t counting on that.

“Oh, Kit. That’s water under the bridge. I’m willing to forget.” You mean forgive? “Now, I’m not one to toot anyone’s horn but my own but you are a very smart woman – to come back like this. To me, I mean. All on your own for no other discernible reason other than the fact that you adore me – like you should – and it has absolutely nothing to do with anything that I might have done at all in the slightest.” Olaf lies.

Moments later, his expression shifts and it looks as though he’s about to speak of something of a much more serious nature and he is. “Anywho.” His brow quirks. “As smart as you are, I’d think you’d have done the right thing by now, Kit. Switching sides. With me.”
