Isle of Dogs (I do love dogs)

Remy LeBoar wants everyone to know he is not dead. He is sad that his namesake is gone but assures everyone you can’t keep a good Remy down.

For example, our Mr Remy went suddenly and completely blind a month ago. His health is otherwise all good and this is a lesson to bad breeders to stop doing what they’re doing. His genetics turned his dark pink Gambit eyes white, but otherwise he’s still his happy, chilled out self and he adapted so quickly that I’m very proud of him. Rogue is also helping him be his usual happy self.

So trust Remy LeBoar, Remy LeBeau isn’t gonna let a little thing like exploding stop him.

Every time I see Kochanski doing anything I’m all “Kochanski! Hey sweetie! How you doing? You’re eating hay? That so awesome!” Like I’m just so chuffed she’s still alive.

She’s SO skinny and sleeps so much and she’s 6 now and I have so much old lady solidarity with her that every day is like a big deal with her.

I put Topanga inside a Halloween wreath and gave her a tiny pumpkin to nibble...and she wanted to eat the wreath instead!

The change of temperature from way hotter than usual in October to normal October weather got to Kochanski’s old lady bones.

I got her a heat pack and gave her some painkillers and now she’s back to waving at me for veggies!

Rogue is 2 now!

It’s a year this coming week that Kochanski lost her sister and a best friend 6 days apart.

She was always the one who didn’t let you pick her up and didn’t really cuddle when you held her.

These days she lets me pick her up without a problem and let’s me have my piggie hugs.

She’s mellowing as she becomes an old lady, but she’s also taken on the temperament of her best friend Venus, and it’s lovely for me to be able to bond with her in another way.

She also embraced becoming an auntie to Topanga so thoroughly, I’m so happy for her.

She’s the last of her group of 4 and it’s great to see her still so happy with her little life.

Topanga, the sentient cloud, is napping in her bed.

After years of making ice packs in the summer to help the piggies keep cool, and every one of them ignoring them most of the time (if it was REALLY hot Moog would lay with one), it’s funny how much Topanga LOVES them.

Even when it’s not hot she still wants one and lays on it as soon as it gets changed over for one fresh from the freezer.

Anyway, Topanga says hi and stay cool.

Remy LeBoar is 2 now!

He and Rogue have been with me for 6 months.

Five years ago today I brought Kochanski and her sisters home from the adoption centre. A breeder wanted her sisters but not her and the staff didn’t want them to go to a breeder or to separate the bonded trio.

I got them all and now Kochanski is the last one left, but enjoying being a new Auntie to 5 month old Topanga. This is Topanga’s first piggie party and she seems to like it!

Remy and Rogue have their own plate to join in the celebration.
