1. Of course XQC got into HY’s car. How could he resist more time with him when he’s gone as far as to watch business news on TV to see a glimpse.
2. HY asking when was the last time XQC was in his car. AHEM OMG YOU PETTY THIRSTY BITCH, I AM DYING!!! You def don’t have amnesia :P
3. Of course XQC won’t tell HY he is dying. He was never a sharing type and now when it looks like HY doesn’t care whatsoever about anything related to him, why would he bother? He’s not the person who tries to justify himself or beg for pity.
4. XQC kept hoping for a miracle when HY was gone but he’s not gonna tell that either. I get why, but argh! And when HY comments that XQC wasn’t afraid to get into his car with a toddler, it’s not really a taunt, or at least not wholly - it is a fishing, always fishing, for some gleam of XQC’s approval.
5. “It takes strength to hate someone, but I don’t feel anything for you now, I don’t hate you, Mr. Xie, you’re not worth wasting my emotions on.“ Oh REALLY?! XQC, with his issues, might believe that but I or any reader with two braincells, does not.
6. Is it me or did HY imply that he’d like XQC’s body in exchange for keeping first emperor info secret? Good luck!
7. When XQC rightly points out that HY cannot work with Duan since he’s a monster who even killed his birth mother and HY is all “old me wouldn’t but he’s dead because someone I trusted most killed me” - OUCH. I am 100% sure HY is still somehow working against Duan because I cannot imagine HY joining hands with someone who tortures innocents, who killed his mother etc but I love that with Meatbun you are never fully sure. And his hurt and bitterness are definitely real - his pointed comments about the car being shielded from recording or driving into the whole “you betrayed me” theme over and over again (sure you don’t care any more, sure) are consuming him even years later. I wonder if that is how he was able to convince Duan - he’d see his sense of betrayal and rage were not fake.
8. XQC wants to explain that he helped the cops not to protect CM but to prevent HY from going down the wrong path but doesn’t because it will sound as excuses and I totally get him but HY would be so desperate to hear this. The miscommunications make total character sense but they are killing me. But I love that he wholeheartedly apologizes and he asks about the chip! HY says it’s been removed. Yeah right, pull the other one, it’s got bells on. But I can see why XQC won’t pry further - he believes he has no right, HY clearly wants nothing to do with him and last time he meddled disaster happened.
9. The call is from HY’s “personal doctor” who HY says cured him better than XQC. HY’s desperation to show he doesn’t care about XQC and was able to replace him fully with superior replacements is the clearest proof he has not let go. But I can see why XQC doesn’t see it.
10. HY going “tee hee I changed my number but if you want I can let you have my new one, I won’t bug you because I am tired of you” and XQC going “no, thank you” because even if he’s broken his pride never is made me want to punch HY and clap for XQC. I am NOT feeling charitable towards HY to put it mildly. I love how HY is deprived of words when XQC doesn’t take him on his generous offer. In your face!
11. HY is an emotional mess, duh, and he didn’t have any news of XQC for three years thanks to org and his own issues. And speaking of issues, he totally jerks off in the car after XQC gets out while touching where XQC set. Get a therapist, dude! One who’s not evil, this time.

13. When XQC opens the WeChat and pushes the voice message button and says He Yu and then can’t continue for a while until he whispers “Little Devil, come back” and does not send breaks my heart.
14. Anthony is XQC’s cousin?! Ugh, I guess every family has that relative. And he is all you look old and rough - ugh just go die in a fire somewhere.
In conclusion: it’s clear by now that XQC is by far my favorite character and I see everything and everyone in the story through a prism of how well they treat him. So He Yu is in my dog house now - not as bad as in 50s-60s but I feel a completely irrational degree of loathing towards him. I realize it’s 100% irrational, the degree of it unsupported by his exact actions (and those actions wouldn’t even be hurting XQC except XQC loves him), that HY suffered plenty himself, and that XQC is hardly a plaster saint, but I don’t care, feelings are feelings so…As of now, I don’t like him one bit and am getting to the “just date Chen Man, XQC, He Yu ain’t worth it” territory. I never felt it with her other two danmei because once the OTPs got together in the present they were ride or die, but due to this different structure, I am feeling this aplenty here.
