Chapter 18 – Purpose
Pero had known a lot of fear in his life, in many different shapes and forms, but never like this. Hearing what Liam had told you made his body behave in ways he’d never experienced before. His nerves crawled under his skin, and his blood seemed to simultaneously boil and freeze, while his muscles ached and pinched and twitched with the need to act. To cut and hurt and kill. To end the threat no matter the consequences. And again, he could read his own reaction in your eyes. In the way you reacted to him. You didn’t try to pull back, but the way your eyes widened and your body flinched when you felt him twitch, told him how savage he must look right now. Even if he’d tried to calm himself it wouldn’t have made any difference. This kind of bloodlust was unstoppable, he already knew that, the only thing that even could calm him would be eliminating the threat. Because this rage didn’t come from passion or anger or even desperation, just the purest fear Pero had ever felt. So, he didn’t even try. He let the harshness fill his body, the brutality begin to school his mind in all the tactics and strategies and experience with violence and cruelty, that he possessed. Whatever happened next, he’d be prepared. He had to be.

Pero was smiling like an idiot while he worked. How had a man like him been given entry into this heaven that was your love and closeness and acceptance? He didn’t have the faintest idea, but he would take it, all the same. Your little reactions to his playful bite had told him so much, and feeling you tug on his hair, inching him closer to your core, wanting him to pleasure you… oh, he could have stripped you right there, and buried his face between your thighs for the rest of the day. He tried not to hurry, not to get sloppy with his work just because he missed you. It was harder than it should be, but once it came time to care for the horses, some amount of calmness descended on him on pure routine.

Summary: After having already been checked out once, and still in pain, you head to the ER to get a second check out on your nearly week old injury. While there, you’re treated by a rather handsome face.
Triggers: this is a hospital/doctor/injury based fic, so if any of that bothers you it’s not ideal for you to read.
You knew that you should’ve skipped over MedExpress and just gone straight to the Emergency Room, but you hadn’t. You were nearly certain that your wallet would not have enjoyed the inevitable bill from the hospital, and so you’d hoped the staff at the non-emergent care center would be suitable. Clearly, they weren’t, seeing as you sat in the ER, half asleep in one of the most uncomfortable cots you’ve ever been on. You’d been walking along the sidewalks of the city, arm in arm with your date, moving through the city at a decent rate in your favorite pair of heels. When you’d crossed the road, your heel got stuck in a storm grate, causing you to roll your ankle - and badly. It had been in pain the rest of the night, and you’d gotten it checked out the next day. The Nurse Practitioner that had seen you, had diagnosed it as a sprain, gave you an ACE bandage and told you to keep off of it for a week.

A/N: I missed writing fluff so much! This is the first time I’m trying to write a series so I really hope you’ll enjoy it!

The first time Henry sees Lily is on a local train. She was sat at a window, hair tied in a low bun, wearing a thick knitted turtleneck with a long waist coat to keep the cold out. She looked really cute all bundled up and nose deep in a worn out book. The pages were yellow and wrinkly, a few post-its sticking out from the side, indicating it had been well loved. The moment she felt his stare on her, she looked up and made eye contact. He was taken aback by how kind her eyes were, like a nice hug, warming him in the January cold. But it was soon broken with a small smile from her and she got off the train. Leaving him with a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach.
Being a new student is always hard, especially when you transfer in the middle of the school year. Oliver was really nervous, trying to tie his yellow shoelaces, pouting when one loop turns out much longer than the other. He recently got a new pair of big boy shoes, not with the velcro, no, his had real shoelaces, like his daddy’s. Heavy footsteps coming from the kitchen near him, his dad having a proud smile plastered on his face.
“Come on, mate, first day!”
For Henry it was a bittersweet moment, his little bubby was slowly but surely growing up. He knew it wasn’t the best idea to send his four year old to a new school, once again. But he didn’t have any other option with his work being all over the place. Even though he was surprised with how fast time had past since he had Olly, he was unbelievably happy and thankful his son turned out this way, even without a mother figure present. After Henry helps Oliver with tying his laces, he lifts his baby in the car and fastens him securely in the booster seat, his favorite blush pink octopus plushy, Theodore, protectively tucked under his chin.
