Aro stared at you like you were the moon and stars; those kitten-like sneezes almost making his dead heart beat again.
“Bless you gattina¹.”
You weren’t sure what that last word meant, but it didn’t matter because you blushed a cherry red, making you even cuter. He pulls you closer to his body, rocking you gently in his arms.
“Amore mio, lo sono pazza di te².”
Thankfully, you and Marcus were tucked away in his private rooms talking about anything you could think of until you felt a tickle in your nose. Knowing how your sneezes sounded, you were a little insecure and tried to hold it in, but your face was already scrunching up before you could-
Achoo! Achoo!
It’s silent for a few moments. Your face feels hot and you have to force yourself to look over at Marcus, who was smiling at you like a love-sick fool (which he is).
“Σ 'αγαπώ τόσο πολύ³.” He mutters bashfully.
He gently says ‘bless you’ after that before carrying on with the conversation because he could tell you were embarrassed.
It was quick and sudden and you weren’t prepared for it at all. The sneeze was strong enough to shake your entire body (which was adorable even though it looked like you were having a seizure), but the sound of it was anything but big. You look at Caius he’s smiling at you, but not in a teasing way (for once). It was more a smile of fondness.
“You always find new ways to warm my unbeating heart, my love. Surely you do this on purpose?”
Your lips quirk up in a small smile and it has him pulling you into his lap for cuddles.

Im sorry im just having thoughts of desperate young vamp Aro, clinging to shambles of sanity, not knowing who he is, not knowing how to stop being everyone he touches, hungry for some comfort but terrified of being touched, fearing there are no parts of himself left in his scrambled mind, getting lost in his head and losing his grasp of reality, being unresponsive for days as his mind is fighting to make sense of all the information,
And Caius standing guard until he returns to himself, either with a cry or a sigh, offering him kind words freely, letting him find comfort in his own sense of security, listening to him talk and talk in circles until things get put in their right place, watching him with vocal support as he built himself up from a shivering, unstable mess into a secure man who finally knows his place in the world,
And i cant help but imagine the sheer hatred he must feel towards the man who rendered Aro a terrified, second guessing, once again dissociative shell. So when that naive man comes back, he cant but reign in his heart and conceal his threat under the guise of advice: "Do not hurt him again"

It's hilarious to me when people complain about AO3 and its policies, and what they allow on the site - but it's ESPECIALLY funny when people complain like "Why can't the freaks make their own site and just go there?"
Sweetie... AO3 is the site for that. Y'all invaded our space.
Wattpad and FFN still exist. Go there. They're as shitty and G-rated as you want. You can't have the luxuries that AO3 offers if you're gonna be a little bitch about its policies. Imagine walking into a strip club and complaining about the alcohol and naked ladies when there's a god damn Dennys next door you could have gone to. Christ.
I love looking at the notes of posts like this and realizing there are lots of names already hidden because I blocked them for being shitty antis years ago.
