"No! Isn't it exhausting being the same?"

boys make things nice for urself. make things comforting and homey and nice-smelling in a way u like. boys to clean is to make things nice. u say "sure I have money to buy more stuff but all I need is the bare essentials. quality of life? what's that? I'm in my 20s and I'm going to live forever, my only desire is THE GRIND". boys u too are soft animals and u need the lovely things that are not strictly necessary for survival. and if u don't know what they for u are yet, think about what makes u feel safe, what makes u happy, what would make ur bed your favorite place to sleep, what soap would motivate u to take a bath at the end of the day. do u attain health and routine by force, by beating urself into it? NO. u make the healthy things as lovely for urself as u can. and if someone makes fun of u for that. one thousand years in the crystal prison

Freedom of Expression does not mean it's suddenly OKAY to ships kids and siblings with one another. You clearly don't understand the responsibility of such serious topics in writing outside of fetishes and kinks.

Actually, friend, freedom of expression does mean that it's okay to ship anything you want.

It's imaginary. It's not real.

☝️ You're not obligated as a writer to exclusively write about healthy, normal relationships and sane, moral actions.

☝️ Fictional stories and inside your imagination are the only places where you explicitly do not have to be responsible, careful or thoughtful of others.

☝️ Do whatever you want in fiction and your imagination forever. No one is harmed. You are not harmed. No others are harmed.

☝️ The rules and laws of real life do not and never will apply in fiction or your imagination.

☝️ Fiction does not need to feature exclusively morally pure characters.

☝️ Someone else's fiction cannot cause you physical harm.

☝️ Fiction writers are not responsible for other people's mental health.

☝️ The content of a piece of fiction does not reflect on the morality of its author.

☝️ Just because someone writes about bad things happening, doesn't mean they want those things to happen.

☝️ Romanticizing the darkness, turmoil and taboo in relationships in fiction has been done for eons and it hasn't destroyed civilization or humanity's moral fiber yet.

☝️ If you tell people that dark romantic fiction will erode their morals or is indicative or personal moral weakness it makes you sound like a Victorian era misogynist worrying over girls reading novels.

and most importantly:

☝️ “I don’t want to read this because it is disgusting to me” is totally valid.

☝️ “I don’t think anyone should be allowed to read or write this because it is disgusting to me” is authoritarian.

Apparently people who don't have executive dysfunction think that actually working on something is the hardest part of doing something. And that's why they get mad that you call the rest of the project "easy" after you've finally worked through doing the plan and know what to do when you're working.

So when you're through with the epiphany of how to make it physically possible to make the thing you're making, and you're sharing the plan with excitement, because the hard part is over, and now you only have to get your hands moving and do it, they get mad at you like

"it's not that easy! It's a lot of hard work! >:C"

they mean it, because

to them, working is the hardest part.

They don't have to fight their brains to get started. They don't have to fight their way through making the choices, making the plan, making yourself make the thing. People who don't suffer from executive dysfunction think that the hardest part is actually doing the thing.

when you have executive dysfunction, it’s like... you’ve just clawed your way up a long steep embankment of loose gravel, and you flop exhausted into the construction site, and you’re like “oh thank fuck, time to lay some bricks, i absolutely could do this all day” and the guy who drove to the site goes “what’s wrong with you man bricklaying is hard graft!”

not as hard as crawling up the gravel mountain bro

there’s also good hard and bad hard. doing the thing might be hard, but at least you’re doing it; it’s good hard. just getting to the thing in the first place is hard and it’s fucking miserable. executive dysfunction puts so many bad hard things in your way before you can get to even the good hard things.

They say there are other worlds out there beyond the stone sea, but I think that's stupid nonsense.

Image of a text that reads: In conversation with some coworkers, today, one of them said that homeless people should have to work for their meals just like the rest of us.

I said, "Okay, I know a man who is homeless. He'd be happy to work. He's got a business degree. He would be happy to come clean your house, do your yard work, or help you with your filing, walk your dogs, babysit your kids, or just about any office job. What time tomorrow should he come see you?"

They all just looked at me.

I said, "Mind you, he's homeless, so he hasn't showered in a while and the only clothes he has are the ones on his back because he lost all his stuff last week when ge got picked up for vagrancy and they wouldn't let him go back for his bag. It would be a few weeks before what you are paying him is enough to get shelter and such."

And still they stared at me.

I finished, "See? It isn't that easy. He can't get a job because he's homeless with no access to hot water or clean clothes. He can't get access to shelter, hot water or clean clothes without a job. You want him to work for his meals? Give him a hand out of the vicious circle. Stop pretending that all he has to do is get a job."

Unhoused people are not intruders into our communities, they are our communities’ failure to take care of their own.

If people are sad about The Wizard Facism game coming from someone you used to look up to and admire, may I suggest an author whose books are filled with nuanced characters and strong, dynamic women?

Tamora Pierce has been writing since the 80’s and has two worlds of magic and fantasy and bonus!!! Isn’t a transphobic POS.

I have met the woman and she is delightful. She rescues cats.

And when you're done with her books, or perhaps while you're reading her books, Diane Duane! Who has also been writing door decades and has excellent portrayals of all manner of diverse characters!

Tamora's readerships and mine cross over in whole a lot of places, and I'm delighted by the connection. And proud to stand with her.
