To everyone wondering what to do with evacuation fundraisers now that the Rafah border has been invaded: listen to Palestinians and their families. If they are keeping their fundraising efforts open, continue to support them. It’s as simple as that.

Many hold onto hope that the crossing will re-open and want to be prepared when it does. Many just need support to survive displacement. Does it matter the exact circumstances to support people living through genocide?

I will update my own list if any information, such as a fundraiser closing, occurs. But I still ask you to please contribute until you are told not to by the families themselves.

I really do think that it’s good for the soul to be unironically pretentious about something. Not in a gatekeeping kind of way but in a “yes, it really is that deep and I would love to enthusiastically and passionately explain why” kind of way.

What is this? Am I in a dream? I can’t believe it. If we continue like this, after a week I can really travel and survive. For your information, Rafah was entered last night by the Israeli army, but Egypt was informed that the army will withdraw from the side of the crossing. This means that I can travel if we continue like this. I can’t believe it. I got 650€, thank God. I can't believe it, Lord. After 212 days, I can register to travel after several days. If we continue like this, continue, my brothers. I am thankful to you and owe you my life. Thank you very much. I don't know how to thank you.😭🥹🫂🙏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

i really can't overstate how fucking furious i am that corrupt egyptian officials have become millionaires from charging palestinian refugees thousands upon thousands of dollars to escape genocide and not only that, that it comes down to the generosity of normal people like you and me to fund these people, to feel guilty over not being wealthy enough to do more, to feel the pressure of choosing which fund to donate to, to have to shoulder the emotional burden of deciding which lives to save, when politicians will get absurdly rich off of insider trading and taking bribes from companies as they help engineer a worse world for all of us to endure.

I'm very tired of this "queer college students should stop supporting Palestine, they'd kill you there!" I watched a hijabi ask a trans man, "but what name do you want to go by?" A butch giving a woman their hoodie so that she could keep her hair covered after the cops took her scarf. Muslim girls making sure the lesbian couple got through the system together. Religious men making sure green haired protestors got out safe. A Palestinian girl with an ex-southern baptist fiance, who definitely isn't a practicing Muslim, whose parents were raising hell for her. I don't want to hear it. Solidarity forever, free Palestine.

Those who tell you your comrade is your enemy work for the real enemy. Do not let them divide you with xenophobia and lies.

Rapper Macklemore is releasing a track called “Hind’s Hall”, speaking out on the genocide of Palestinians, and the United States complacency in this ongoing violence. Macklemore has stated that once the track drops on streaming, all proceeds from streams will be going directly to UNRWA— the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East.

The new tracks namesake Hind’s Hall echoes the honours that Columbia University encampment protestors bestowed the Morningside Heights campus’ Hamilton Hall— in memory of Hind Rajab, the 6 year old Palestinian girl in Gaza who was shot by Israeli soldiers after being trapped inside a vehicle, with her dead family. She had begged to be rescued as tanks closed in on her.

Macklemore using his platform to vehemently speak out against genocide, the Israeli occupation and United States-led violence is what every single artist should be doing right now. The power of art should not be underestimated. Macklemore started out in the Hip-Hop scene within communist circles, namely working alongside Blue Scholars, and has never neglected his Leftism through out his career: the artist has spoken on issues regarding mental health, addiction, racial profiling and police violence, Capitalism, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and toxicity of American culture.

Abdullah is a graphic design artist, technician, and trainer. He had a very successful career in graphic design and shared a beautiful home with his family. This all changed in October 2023, when the occupation destroyed his him home. His work was mostly remote, meaning that when his equipment was destroyed and Gaza’s internet access was crippled, he was unable to complete work for clients, and lost his job.

Abdullah, his pregnant wife, and their 3 small children are now homeless. They have been running from place to place, sheltering in empty buildings and even vehicles. Not only are they in continued danger from aerial bombardment and ground attacks, they have nowhere to stay and no way to support themselves.

They are raising funds to evacuate to Egypt, and hope to stay there and find a home. The processing fees for evacuating to Egypt are very high, and they also require funds for securing a new home and the tools Abdullah needs to restore his livelihood.
