I need to vent about How To Date Billy Walsh
I have been waiting for HTDBW since it was announced. I was excited and ready to let it slide that it was ye olde friend in love with his bestie thing. I thought maybe we'd get something new and special with it. I was literally an admin for an update account on Twitter.
Instead, however, I was left confused, irritated and underwhelmed...
Thinking about it again, I think they should have used more self aware kind of songs, since the movie broke the fourth wall, get the songs that match that vibe.

Let me start by stating the facts that Ben is gay, no ifs ands or buts, he's a homosexual. Him and May-Li often meet up for lunch dates to discuss their gay lives, May-Li probably mainly wants to know if he's been on any dates.
Look at these two and tell me it's not mlm/wlw solidarity
If it's not clear by the one Dumping Ground fic I've written, I think it would have been a blessing to have Kyle be queer - hear me out, it was something about the relationship he had with his dad, like he's got more to learn about himself but because he wanted to still impress his dad and get along with him he was holding back from learning more about himself. I miss Kyle, need him to make a comeback... With a boyfriend. The first person in the dumping ground to know about Kyle liking boys would be Hugo and Hugo obviously does not understand why Kyle is being secret about it but Kyle explains to him how some people can be and Hugo gives him a hug and says he doesn't want to be like that.
He just gives off 'I'm queer I don't have time for your problems' energy
Now, CBBC could just be leading me on but Sabrina is literally never seen without bisexual colours - I'm not entirely wild on the idea of headcanoning sexualities for children, and honestly I'll be happy for The Dumping Ground to not have any more romantic plots (well, not within the house itself, but if there's someone outside the house then go for it) ... But Sabrina is honestly kind of Elektra coded and we all know Elektra is canonically lesbian so it's not totally out of the window for Sabrina to be bi.
The hair, the rainbow bracelets, Sabrina is a bisexual icon.
I don't know if there's anyone in particular you want me to have a headcanon for, but these are the three I've thought about the most. Wait, that's a lie, I also thought about Alex and Finn - CBBC wants you to believe they were just besties but hear me out... It just feels like there was potential they may have been closer than that idk. It might just be my need for more LGBT+ rep in the show again but honestly Georgia also has the potential to be queer, so like... Come on now CBBC.

Alright, I'm ready to say it. The acting on TDG has really gone downhill. The best of the children in this series are the ones who were already in it.

With Kyle gone, there's a new LGBTQ+ icon in the house
what’s your opinion on the new dumping ground trailer?
I am so late to this I didn't realise it was out until now. First things first, over the moon to see Ben in the thumbnail, can't afford to lose him knowing everything's changing.
The lack of Kyle hurts entirely but it's cured a little bit knowing Hugo's not there too so I can rest happy on the idea that Kyle and Hugo are still being kept together. Crazy really to have them survive the fire and then just disappear but okay.
The new kids... Okay whenever there's new kids there always seems to be a rivalry between newbies and oldies, and honestly I'll probably get used to them quickly like I got used to the S10 lot - and attached to Kyle and Hugo so the bitterness will stick around on their behalf, sorry new kids.
Finn! So glad he's gonna be in it, it would have been SOMETHING to bring him back and then just get rid of him again, which I thought was gonna be the case when the first clips of S11 cast came out.
I find it hard to judge, I hope they just made the trailer look fun and it still has the serious storylines (though it looked like it does with the several clips involving parent situations at the end)
And embarrassingly just realised the first ep is already out and I'm starting it right now!
