Hi! I’m amaya, but also like to go by moon online
She/her, early 20s, biromantic asexual, Mexican American/Hispanic
I go to university, but I’m not good at it and the only thing I ever wanna do is write
I started writing at the beginning of middle school and haven’t stopped since. My dream has always been to be traditionally published, or at least, publish one book so I can go in a store and point like ‘dat me!’ I’m also interested in screenwriting/scriptwriting! I would love to write for an animated TV/movie particularly or write for a comic on day!
I always have to have a bit of magic and fantasy in my stories, but I like dabble in all kinds of genres. I also really love romance. I also love reading anything fantasy or anything romance!
I love watching anime, reading books and manga, any animated shows/movies, playing on my switch, and trying/failing at art.

Why I made this blog—

I hope to talk about my writing and post updates/snippets of my WIPs to gain confidence in my writing as well as just productivity in general. Equally as important, I really wanna make more writing friends! I love learning about what other people are writing and keeping up with their WIPs. I would love to chat and gush about writing/characters/shows anything really! Also, I’m very new to Tumblr, I’ve never had a tumblr account before so I’m still learning lol.

YA Fantasy/Dark Academia Duology

After Amnesty, who lives in one of four legendary libraries, barely escapes from the destruction of the Library of Bastil. She must travel to the other three in hopes of learning more about a past she was lied to about and a world she hidden away from.

Status: First draft complete, but I’m going to completely rewrite the plot.

When she was in elementary school, her uncle taught her how to play it (he’s a professional player) and she performed with it for her talent show while having her first experience with stage fright.

gonna cause an uproar in the writing community so here’s my best writing tips

sometimes people care more about having an opinion than being right. “what does this mean” you ask? nothing. just like their opinion. keep scrolling
writing is hard. but not writing is harder
if you can’t figure out which word to use, keysmash. it’ll keep the excitement going
your readers know nothing. be a bee
if you‘re suffering from writer’s block, get a better lawyer. majority of writers have managed to stay out of prison, do better. unless you’re undercover. google can only tell you so much
be a role model. close your writing document
use placeholder names for your characters. it is the safest way to ensure your characters will end up with a new name later on ❤️
if your characters bark at you, bark back. assert dominance. if you’re not edward cullen jacob black it up in here why are you even here?
“research?” more like “reeeeee-ling away from thIS” haha i’m a fucking imposter comedian i should be incarcerated
setting characters on fire is not morally correct but it will stop them from derailing the plot (but not each other)
if your characters don’t follow the outline, look inward. you haven’t murdered enough of them
if someone shits on a trope or cliché you’re using, use the trope or cliché even harder. hell, use it in all your stories. who tf cares
characters developing a mind of their own is a federal offense. you can’t arrest them but let it be known
who even needs characters? copy paste a couple versions of yourself, it will give you the same result which is an awesome story with cool protagonists
don’t ask me for writing advice. i have no idea what i’m doing

—synopsis

Irene Navarro graduated from high school three years ago, but after developing agoraphobia, it still feels like yesterday. Being terrified to apply for a university, get a job, or get behind a wheel, she wonders if her life will be on pause forever because of her anxiety. However, when her parents leave for a vacation, Irene’s room is transported to a dimension that consumes parts of homes across the multiverse. Her only hope of escape relies on a sly woman with black wings who calls herself Aquila, having lived in this world all her life. Along with Irene developing magical powers and Aquila harboring deadly secrets, Irene finds herself traveling across a world that threatens to consume her too. But when passion ignites between the unlikely duo, Irene realizes her worst fear might come from a place of her greatest love.
