My peeps, 🩵

Please remember that Oliver has said that Tommy and Buck are a "love story," and Tim told them to play it as a "romcom." How many romcoms do you see that break up after a significant date? I'm -

For real. I am NOT ready to say goodbye to this man!

Repeat after me:

It is OKAY to have content preferences and to be uncomfortable with certain ships or topics, controversial or not. It is OKAY to distance yourself from such content and block certain tags or creators.

It is NOT OKAY to actively hate and harass real people for creating content of fictional characters that features things that make you uncomfortable.

Who do we have to petition to have Lou Ferrigno Jr added as regular cast member!? I'm nowhere near ready to see the last of this man on 911!

I'm not usually this petty, but I really hope Buddie fans are seething after that KISS tonight!

like i've said it before and i'll end up saying it again but harassing celebrities on instagram bc they haven't said exactly what you wanted them to say about a humanitarian crisis

  • is not activism
  • is just performative bullshit
  • makes you look like a dick and harms the optics of your movement
  • derails the conversation to be about your celebrity of choice and not the cause you're yelling at them about
  • is often rooted in bigotry, especially with regards to putting a disproportionate amount of pressure on poc to comment on social issues that they are not experts in just because they are poc
  • creates a false sense of having done good and perpetuates the idea that you don't need to do any actual work to help people in crisis as long as you've yelled at folks for thoughtcrime on the internet
  • does not help anybody except yourself, you selfish little shit

I've been to several concerts alone and it's actually more fun than it sounds. It's amazing how you can bond with other like minded people and make incredible friends even though you know you'll likely never see them again.

Because treating people fairly often means treating them differently.

This is something that I teach my students during the first week of school and they understand it. Eight year olds can understand this and all it costs is a box of band-aids.

I have each students pretend they got hurt and need a band-aid. Children love band-aids. I ask the first one where they are hurt. If he says his finger, I put the band-aid on his finger. Then I ask the second one where they are hurt. No matter what that child says, I put the band-aid on their finger exactly like the first child. I keep doing that through the whole class. No matter where they say their pretend injury is, I do the same thing I did with the first one.

After they all have band-aids in the same spot, I ask if that actually helped any of them other than the first child. I say, “Well, I helped all of you the same! You all have one band-aid!” And they’ll try to get me to understand that they were hurt somewhere else. I act like I’m just now understanding it. Then I explain, “There might be moments this year where some of you get different things because you need them differently, just like you needed a band-aid in a different spot.”

If at any time any of my students ask why one student has a different assignment, or gets taken out of the class for a subject, or gets another teacher to come in and help them throughout the year, I remind my students of the band-aids they got at the start of the school year and they stop complaining. That’s why eight year olds can understand equity.

I remember reading somewhere once “we should be speaking of equity instead of equality” and that is a principle that applies here me thinks

I will reblog this every time it shows up on my dash, because, frankly, the world cannot get enough reminders.

Ending the stigma of drug use will save lives.

“Never Use Alone” is a number you can call when you have no choice but to use when you’re alone.

If you call (800) 484-3731, an operator will answer your call, and ask for your first name, location and whether you have any allergies, or medical conditions. After you’ve given us this information you can go ahead and inject your substance. After you’ve ingested the substance, we will continue communicating with you. If you do not respond after 30-45 seconds, we will notify emergency services of a possible overdose at the location you’ve given us.

We will never shame you, judge you, or preach at you to quit. If you are ready to quit though, we have treatment resources for every state in the US. Regardless if you have insurance, or not. We will do our best to connect you with the help you need. please call. We are on standby.

This seems like a solid and real thing, I did my best to vet them and found their FB: https://www.facebook.com/Neverusealone/

They also seem to help with getting Narcan.

holy shit this can actually save Real Lives like dudes this isn’t a joke and isn’t to be passed off

Never Use Alone doesn’t have an app (yet) but there are two apps that can be used all over the world. One that is available only on iOS last time I checked is The Canary Overdose prevention app and the other is Be Safe by The Brave Coop. They are both very easy to use.

from this reddit thread that has a lot of people talking about the hotline, including sharing their own experiences. additionally, it looks like there are also similar overdose prevention hotlines in other countries now, such as canada and scotland

For those in the notes wondering about their cop policy, here’s what they say on their website’s FAQ:

All operators are harm reductionists. Our goal is to reduce harm, not increase it, by getting you arrested. Our hope is that only EMS responds, but the truth is, we cannot guarantee that. To reduce the chances of the police showing up with EMS, when we call EMS, we report it as an “unresponsive person”, rather than an “overdose”. When you call 911 and report an “overdose”, a lot of times, police will automatically respond to those calls. So, by reporting it as an “unresponsive person” it reduces the chances of police responding.

They also say that all of their volunteers have personally experience with substance use, and that they do not accept volunteers employed by addiction treatment centers.

currently thinking about how tommy saying “probably not in the same day” was when i actually genuinely thought they were going to kiss cause that is so fucking smooth. like buck’s already offered to buy him a beer and tommy’s offered to give him flying lessons and now when tommy says he can teach him muay thai buck almost gives him an out by saying kind of jokingly “would that be right after the flying lessons?” and tommy just doubles down like no i’m not joking or just doing this as a favor i want to spend time with you and bring you to my workplace and my home and teach you about the things i enjoy and share these parts of myself with you i don’t just want to spend a day with you. and he says this all while looking directly at buck’s lips. absolutely god tier tommy kinard the man that you are.
