This might seem fun for some people, but for us it’s not.
You see, Palawan is known for its non-commercialized islands and untouched beaches. There are only a few resorts in there, and the government limits tourism population there. Here are some pictures of our beautiful islands:
Nickelodeon, however, wants to capitalize the island of Coron, Palawan. They’re going to build a resort and theme park there. They claim that they want to “spread environmental awareness” but they’re really not. Building this resort will disrupt the marine ecosystem; thus destroying the environment there. Also, Palawan is our last ecological frontier in the Philippines. If they’re going to continue to do this, more and more big companies will cash-in to commercialize Palawan- and I really do not want that to happen.
I know petitions won’t do much, but at least we can prove a point that Palawan should not be disrupted. Please sign this petition, so that it will not only show that us Filipinxs don’t want this, but people from different countries as well. Please spread it around as well, so that people from different countries can be aware of what Nickelodeon is doing.

Gotta spread this myself. I’m Filipina and the conservation of home is incredibly important to me. Pollution is already a huge issue throughout the country’s cities. Many islands including Palawan are home to not just beautiful nature but some of the last of our untouched, uncolonized heritage.

As most of you already know, on May 13th Tumblr has decided to lock us all out of the site and make us change our passwords for safety reasons, without as much as letting us know about the overhaul in advance.
Now while for most this was no more of an issue than the minute lost on changing the password, many of us have stayed locked out. The problem here is that these blogs are tied to defunct e-mail addresses we no longer have access to, therefore changing the password is out of the question and so is logging in for, as it seems right now, ever.
Addressing the issue I have written to tumblr spport and got this reply:
How considerate, we are now supposed to throw away years of work on our blogs (MAIN BLOG AND ALL SIDEBLOGS), thousands of posts, original content, url and its reputation and of course ALL OF OUR FOLLOWERS, simply because Tumblr @staff failed to notify us on the matter.
As we can still use the Tumblr app, this hideous failure could be fixed by updating the Tumblr app with the option to change the e-mail address on mobile.
I shared this idea with Tumblr support as well but I was met with the answer that, i cite, ‘’the changes aren’t up to our department’’.

Wait, tumblr forced us to change passwords? Huh?
Yes. On May 12th @staff announced a third party had gotten access to the list of emails with passwords from prior 2013 (before Yahoo). They announced Tumblr users would be required to change their passwords out of precaution, though they didn’t believe the leak had caused much, if any, damage. Within the next 24 hours Tumblr kicked anyone logged in out ad required they change their password - it was sudden and many were not expecting it, and it “made the log-in page look like a phishing site”, to paraphrase another user. If you haven’t been kicked off and forced to, I’d recommend changing your password and updating your security settings (including your email if need be!)
YES THEY DID ANNOUNCE IT. This is why I didn’t unfollow @staff even though everyone recommended I do since “it’s just nonconsequential spam” with their weekly “trending” things and all (Like Tom from MySpace lol). Staff makes announcements on their account for a reason - if your dash is busy you might miss it, and I agree, they should have made a “pinned post” or something like they do with the “question time” things (that little link that gets pinned to the top of your dash saying what creator is doing an AMA this week).
They did not announce it well, I agree. But to say “they didn’t announce it at all!!!1!” is just incorrect. This is a security issue and I can’t recall ever being able to recover a password/username from another site without a relevant email. While there may be a site that does it, I don’t know of it, and one has to admit it looks very fishy when someone says “I can’t get into my email can you just send me the log in info without it” - literally anybody could say that and the site staff have little to prove that it is or isn’t you.
I don’t like it. I’m not condoning it. There are reasons for it and @staff did make a (bad, easily missed) announcement. I hope @staff learns from this and makes better announcements. (lol I doubt it, with their current track record), but, unfortunately, there is little anyone can to remedy this where all parties will be happy.
