Horizon Zero Dawn part 1

Did I ever share part 3 of FFXIV? I’ll post it just in case idek. I’m excited I’m finally in Heavensward now with these decks. Might be awhile until I get to Stormblood with them though lol.

For awhile, aegisub stopped being usable for me. Probably because I updated my mac to sierra... but now it’s, well, just okay. The sound quality is awful through aegisub but it sounds fine in the actual video audio and when I create subs2srs decks. So I can at least deal with crappy audio when making/fixing subtitles. I’ve got more FFXIV decks finished...probably just 2 or 3 since I last shared, but idek if anyone but me is interested in them lol. I love that game so much. All I’ve been doing is keeping up with anki, really. Reading the news in japanese occasionally, but otherwise I’ve just been maintaining what I currently know, instead of trying to learn too many new things. Been pretty busy lately, and I’ve had more poor mental health days the past couple months than I would have liked. Ended up not signing up for the JLPT this december, because it conflicts with something I have to do. I’m not too bummed, but it’s a little frustrating that I’d have to wait until next year december to take it again...unless I get brave/money and decide to travel in the summer. 

I hope you all have been well. I wish I was at the same energy level I was at when I first started this blog, but man... my 25th year on Earth is kicking my butt.

I finally finished re-organizing all my grammar notes in evernote. So now I’m slowly adding sentences to anki. The starred points were the ones I wanted to focus on a bit more. I change the sentence color whenever I add that particular one into anki so I don’t get confused when going through my notes, trying to find new stuff to add into anki. 

I’ve been studying as if I’m going to attempt the JLPT again this year. I’ll make my final decision in the fall, but for now, since I’m unsure, I’ll study as if I am. I don’t want to waste any time. I’m starting out by going over the difficult grammar points, continuing to actively build my vocabulary, and doing some mock test questions. I really gotta boost my reading speed + vocab though. Vocab seems like it will always be something I need to work on! There’s so much of it! lol.

How many of you are taking the JLPT tomorrow? Or maybe it’s today in your timezone. Maybe you’ve taken it already?? I hope you will do well, and that you come out ready to learn more regardless. <3

I am a human who is prone to making errors! I’m excited because I finally finished through the Far Edge of Fate in my game, so I’m ready to begin Stormblood! :)

I broke it down to 4 parts. Taking awhile to upload, so I’ll just let it go overnight. I’m assuming that the first youtube deck I posted will have the same problem as it too was over 1G, so I’ve split that into three decks and I’m currently exporting them from anki. I’ll be more mindful of the file size in the future everyone.

Here’s my new collection of youtube subs2srs anki decks. Some of the types of videos include that monster anime, japanese zootopia, ranking videos which may or may not have a fake voice i legitimately can’t tell don’t hate me, us embassy talks, more popular japanese youtubers, and much, much more! lol Again, there will be many cards that you’ll end up deleting. I was going for quantity instead of quality because then I know I’ll at least have some different types of speaking/topics/etc without it taking up hours of work to fix subtitles. With this one and the last one I posted though, that’ll be the end of my no-longer-fixing-subtitles phase. I’m currently working on FFXIV, FFX-2, Horizon Zero Dawn, NnM’s grammar vids, and continuing HP3. I may post FFXIV decks more frequently because I’m still in Heavensward and I don’t wanna wait until I’m all done with Stormblood to post a finalized deck. So every once in awhile I’ll post parts to that. I really enjoy the content in FFXIV because it’s a bit more obscure - not every day conversation. So it’s nice for vocab gathering. :) 

anyhoot, enjoy or not. I forget the exact number of cards in this deck but I’m pretty sure it’s over 20,000. Once I exported it so I could upload it and share it here, I merged all the cards into my main subs2srs deck. 

I may have burnt myself out with gathering videos for now, hehe. I started making smaller sets so it’s easier to do the batches in subs2srs. Also, some videos have drm restrictions and it’s easier to find the ones that do with smaller sets. 17 sets x 9 video per set = 153 videos, plus the 24 I did before getting more organized = 177 total videos in the upcoming subs2srs deck! I’m excited. Again, I’m sure a lot of those cards won’t be useful but it takes .002 seconds to delete them so whatever! It’s nice to have so many because if I’m ever confused by a certain word or sentence pattern I can look it up within my subs2srs deck, and move any similar cards to the top of the queue. I love Anki so much bless.  Anyway, I’ve got 15 more folders to plug into subs2srs before I’m all done. Maybe then I’ll get back to working on the Horizon Zero Dawn and FFX-2 subtitles...maybe.

I’m still gathering more subtitled youtube videos here and there. I think I used one video from this channel in the 100 YT vid deck I made, but they have a bunch more subtitled videos. Might be nice to check out the channel if you’re into (monster) anime.

This lady is so cute holy shit. I was watching part of her tedx talk when I was finding videos and she’s just so?? adorable?? bless her. I was so happy to see her come up in anki today. what a ray of light.

Trying to reorganize my grammar notes in Evernote. I started out only having one note with all of the points (on the left) but I just made a grammar notebook so in it, each new note is its own grammar point (like on the right). I like having this because I can review any individual point easier, but also I like collecting sentences when I’m reading. Some grammar points, it’s harder to search for example sentences. Like “〜こそ〜が...” was a pain to find a few extra sentences outside of the 総まとめ book. So whenever I come across something in the wild that is a good example sentence for a grammar point, I can just copy/paste or type it out for future reference. I wish I started a notebook like this a long time ago, but now I’ve got something to work on in between anki reviews. :)
