The Rules:

  1. Every twenty-four hours there will be another round. After every round, the character in last place will be eliminated.
  2. If there are multiple characters tying for last place, there will be a special elimination round. In these rounds, every character in last place will be eliminated, even if all the characters have tied equally.
  3. When there are only two characters remaining, they will face off against one another in a week-long poll to determine the victor.
  4. If the character that you consider the hottest isn't listed here, hit the 'what about ___???' option and reply to this post with the overlooked character. The character with the highest 'write-in' votes will be added to the next round. Unless the 'what about ___???' option is the least voted for, in which case it will be eliminated. Welcome to the party, Han and Cassian!
  5. This is all for fun. Don't take it too seriously ;)

Din came in last place, so now we must say goodbye to Din. This is the way.

^^^All of us, saying goodbye to Din.

There's a lot of drama going on with this poll, so I'd just like to take the chance to say... fight! Fight! Fight!

JK, everyone please be nice to one another. These polls are just for fun.

Round Nine!

“you don’t like the proliferation of terms like Unalive outside of TikTok because you realize that you’re aging out of youth culture and it makes you uncomfortable!”

no I don’t like it because there’s something INCREDIBLY dystopian about being forced to soften terms for basic parts of the human experience like death and sex (and even more so terms for oppressed minorities- call me a “le-dollar sign-bian” and I will bite you) purely because advertisers and corporations demand it

The idea that young people are getting used to not being able to speak in public about sex, queerness etc without talking around censors, and see this as normal and not a problem, scares me tbh.

The fact that people are so comfortable with being censored that they Voluntarily censor themselves on words and topics that aren’t even being limited is a terrifying sign

I hate to be like the “THIS IS JUST LIKE 1984” guy but. there was literally a thing in that book where you had to say “double plus ungood” instead of “bad” because you weren’t supposed to talk about bad things. if you told me ten years ago that “unalive” was a word that George Orwell had coined for Newspeak I would have believed you.

Academy Award Winners for Best Cinematography: 2022 — Greig Fraser, ACS, ASC Dune (2021) Directed by Denis Villeneuve Aspect Ratio: 2.39 : 1

Desert colors dominate throughout the movie, but Fraser, [production designer Patrice] Vermette and costume designer Jacqueline West went to great lengths to imbue that palette with subtle and organic variations of color. “We worked very hard to make sure the world of Dune was not monochromatic,” Fraser says. “For example, Patrice worked veins of reds and blues into the sand walls. He — and Jacqueline, who built these subtle gradations of color into the costumes — both did wonderfully subtle work, and I had to make sure we were capturing those subtleties.“
“My approach was to pull as much color as possible out of non-colorful situations,” he continues. “It was all subtle differences, not necessarily bold color contrasts. Achieving bold color in film is super easy. Achieving depth [in the image while creating a natural-light look] when you’re working with a digital sensor and digital lights is harder than it might first appear.” — The American Society of Cinematographers, January 2022

Boy, diving back into the Twilight universe – even just for ironic funsies – when 30 and politically aware, it's fucking creepy! The stupidity of Meyer's worldbuilding doesn't even register when the story devolves from "YA paranormal romance" to "mothers must die for their babies".

OP turned off replies, so I have to reblog to point out that this photo is AI. (First clue is the missing forefinger and hovering thumb on the baguette.)

Actual photos of Momoa in Dune can be found here, if anyone wants/needs them:
