Thought I would create an account to share what I have been working on.

Zenyatta

Behold the weapon of the mighty Zenyatta, my favorite Overwatch character. Was thinking about making a silhouette of my next project. Don't think it would have worked with this one. Normally I take images from several sides to show how the model looks. Not much would change however.

Can you guess what this is?

Okay, without looking at the tags, do you know what this is? I have been wanting to make a set of these for the past 13 years and am going to. Be wearing them to a convention next year.

MK7 arm and MK37 helmt

Found this project while I was going through my computer. Going to print out the hand and make myself a neat little glove. Finding space for the light and making the pieces between the fingers should be a nice little challenge.

The helmet is something I made recently to test how long it would take to print half scale helmets. Selling it on Etsy for anyone interested.

Majora’s Mask

I have been wanting to make one of these for a long time. Now that the model is done I am going to try and 3d print it. If enough people are interested then, I might make a mold so I can sell them for a reasonable price. Going to try experiments with wood dust and resin to make it feel like it is out of wood. I would also like to try and make the eyes semi transparent with a light, I think that would look awesome hanging on a wall.

Mask of time

When Bionicle ended it meant we would never get the mask of time seen in the comics. I have seen several versions of it on shapeways already, and decided to try my hand at it. Here is the end result. It is avalible on Shapeways now.

Happy Halloween!

For the last few days I’ve been working on Lewis here and I’m really proud of the way he turned out. It’s been a task though! Phew.

I didn’t realise how poofy his hair and cravatt were. Thank god there’s some good reference pictures for him or I would be a ghost too.

Next step: 3D printing! I’m just figuring out some good poses at the moment. Any ideas?

Gold Paint vs Gold Leaf

Experimented with using gold leaf along side my gold paint. Not bad for a first time but i think I could do better net time. one photo was taken with flash, the other without.

Work bench and core brain

Well this is my work bench as I continue working on my personality core. Hoping to have a few more parts finished by monday.

The additional pictures are of what I am calling the "brain" of the core, This is where the eye and the shell connect and where the battery and electronics will be housed.

Personality core Iris

Been working on the personality core. Here is an update of how the space eye is going.

The orange piece to was made using my 3d printer. A dremel made tidying up the edges fairly easy and quick, before Pinkysil was used to create a mold of it.

Using Aldax craftcast to make the white piece. The next 3 hours were spent sanding down the cast to the right thickness and a smooth surface. Then made another mold of the finished piece in Pinkysil. This is now my mastermold, to replicate the piece quickly.

A black resin dye was added to the resin for the next two casts. Using a clear casting resin, orange resin dye and yellow transparent resin dye, I attempted to replicate the texture in the game.

Saddly the tests didn't go well, the orange resin was too opaque and didn't allow any light through. The transparent resin acted weirdly with resin, going white and not hardening completely.

Half size personality core

I started this project a little while ago, and have decided to post my work on the site. To share what I have been working on, and get feedback.

I have been working on a half scale personality core from the game Portal. It is going to be a poseable figure as accurate to the game design as possible.

Features will include; Changeable eyelids to show different expressions. Remote activated sound with quotes from each core. Lights that will change brightness in time to the speech. A changeable iris with one for each of the different cores.

A little bit of back story. My partner Unfunnybunny really love the game so I am making this for her. But I can make others by commision, if people would like. Using the model from the game and cinema 4d I made this file to 3d print. Here are some images of the model I made, there are 96 pieces in all. If I can get around to it I will create an aperture science arm to hold the core from the ceiling.
