Oh my god yes hi hello sorry! Not sure how long this has been sitting in my inbox. I haven't even signed into this Tumblr in God knows how long. I've had a lot going on in my personal life. Lots of change and moving around and *shudder* adulting. I kinda lost time and motivation to write anything. I am slowly flirting with the idea of picking the Bonnie and Clyde AU back up. This is my maternal grandparents. My grandpaw says that he saw her walking down the street and whistled at her and then they fell in love ha (gross, I know. He won’t give me any details).
My grandparents met in Australia during World War II. They were both serving in the US Army. My grandma was my grandpa’s nurse when he was sick.
(He may have been married at the time, or already divorced. Totally unclear to me!)

She worked with the radios/communications and he was deployed in the Pacific. They met on a staircase, he got her attention and asked her out. They were married at a judge’s house and this city girl from Iowa moved into a farm house in Kansas with no running water. They were so happy during their marriage.
Fun fact: I picked their wedding anniversary as our wedding anniversary
I don't have any photos of them on hand but my paternal grandparents (the only ones I've ever known) met in their small farm town of Wyaconda, Missouri. They went to school together but my great grandma wouldn't let my grandma date steady until she was 18. They started going steady at a bonfire party where they both came with another date. My grandpa always says he knew that night he would marry her. She was 17 at the time. They got engaged before he got drafted for WW2. They got married right after he came back at 19 and 20 years old. They've been married 72 years and are still very much in love.
