Well, Never thought I'd see a Rich Baldroy. Twst Spoilers. Kuroshitsuji spoilers.
So when Yana-sensei was bragging about the fact that she was now happy that she was able to make Baldroy look his age (40s), I didn't realize that part of the reason why was because she was using him as the base for Vil's Dad Eric Venue. I mean...Come on, this one is obviously the inspiration, and when I saw this I was both laughing and crying, because if you know anything about Baldroy's history at this point, you'll know that his past is full of heart break. So to see a look alike, with a son, and seemingly happy, it just warms my heart.
Also does this mean that the younger version looked more like her earlier designs of him, as she couldn't draw, as she said, middle aged people.
On a side note, I still think the rule applies to Vil here as it does to Malleus, and probably every other male character in Yana's stories. The boys will always look like their mom's, with some characteristics of their fathers. (Ex. Ciel has his mother's eyes, but has Vincent's hair and some of his aspects. Edward has his mother's facial features, but his father's blonde hair.) (Ex. Malleus and his mother, Deuce and his mom). While the girls will always look like their fathers (Ex. Lizzie looks more like her dad than her mom, but she has her mom's hair style. We haven't seen a lot of girls in Black Butler, nor Twst, So I can't point to anyone just yet in regard to the similar rules from there.)
So while Vil has Eric's brows and laugh, his over all look gives me the feeling that he looks more like his mother than his father, and since Eric is kind of a George Clooney/Cary Grant, we age gracefully type, and more rugged looking than Vil, it might explain why he got cast more in certain types of heroic roles, as Vil has the "love Rival jerk" type posh face that so many romantic movies tend to play with.
