Vegas loses game five and the Stars pull ahead 3-2. In tonight’s game this is what I expected of the Stars, dominant in areas though Vegas had many chances that missed the net or were saved by Oetttinger.

Hill did well in his return game as two of the three Stars goals were power play goals where he was screened.

The first Golden Knights goal was scored by Stone on the power play with assist from Hanifin and Eichel.

The second Golden Knights goal was scored by Carrier with a wrap around that just barely sneaked under Oettinger’s pad. This goal was assisted by Barbashev and Mcnabb.

Vegas had a lot of possible scoring changes that just weren’t finished with multiple that hit the post, Stephenson with a one on one with Oettinger, and a few chances on power plays.

What really hurt us the most was Pietrangelo’s minor penalty. He was being held by Seguin and when he was let go, Pietrangelo turned around and smacked Seguin in the nose causing him to have a bloody nose. This is the power play where the Stars got the advantage.

The game felt very even throughout and I can’t say what went wrong besides pucks going wide of the net or just barely missed chances. It was back and forth all night and the Stars couldn’t even score on the empty net.

I sadly don’t see Vegas being able to win two games in a row, though I really wish they would. I don’t want to think about the off season just yet because there’s a lot of decisions cap wise (as well as free agents) to be made regarding the team and that’s sure not going to be fun.
