So as a Mel stan, what are your feelings on Stannis as a character?
He’s an asshole and also my child (◡‿◡✿)
Really though, I love him and Mel equally, I did even the first time I read ASOIAF. When I began exploring this fandom, however, I quickly realised that most people hated Melisandre and didn’t like Stannis’s…association with her. So there was actually a time I fell into a “Stannis the Mannis can do no wrong and it’s all Mel’s fault!” phase. In reality I never stopped shipping them, but I was almost ashamed of it until maybe…2 or 3 years ago? Then it wasn’t until last year I really went back to Mel’s character and decided she needed more love/appreciation in fandom ^-^
As for specific feelings about Stannis’s character…wow, I have a lot.
