Update from the WGA on negotiations
Pay the talent.
Gee, Tumblr would probably really hate it if you shared and spread this damning article … To the surprise of absolutely none of Tumblr’s LGBTQ users, it turns out the independent NYC human rights agency Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) found that Tumblr’s ham-fisted adult content ban in December 2018 disproportionately targeted LGBTQ users. The CCHR’s investigation revealed Tumbler’s moderation algorithms is demonstrably biased against queer content. As part of the settlement, Tumblr was obligated to review their prejudicial anti-gay moderation policies. Even more mortifyingly, they’ve also had to hire an expert on sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) issues and provide unconscious bias training to their moderators. I frankly doubt Tumblr has learned a thing from this humbling experience. Just recently the Tumblr algorithm flagged three ancient posts of mine as violating their terms. All three “offenders” were vintage homoerotic beefcake images (softcore by modern standards) roughly 50 – 65-years-old by Bruce of Los Angeles, Bob Mizer and Tom of Finland. (These are of course pioneering queer artists who routinely faced censorship and imprisonment in the fifties and sixties. Plus ca change!). They've been visible on my page - corrupting viewers - for years at this point. I appealed all three immediately. Only the Tom of Finland one was approved. The other two are now hidden. So, they haven't learned much. Apparently, Tumblr – who loves to declare how hip, youthful, inclusive and progressive their values are - wants to restore trust with their queer users. I’d recommend we remember their hypocrisy when Pride rolls around and Tumblr splashes rainbow flags everywhere and attempts to pink wash their image.
In honour of Pride Month, this is worth a reblog! Don’t buy into Tumblr’s hypocritical “pink washing.”

el and max have more chemistry than el and mike send tweet
spreading a pro-piracy meme that encourages people to use utorrent/bittorrent (which have bundled crypto miners in their installers) and tpb (which is unmoderated and has tons of unsafe shit) has gotta be some sort of weird reverse-psychology sabotage dealio
just use an open-source client like qbittorrent or deluge and get a good vpn, kiddos
WE LOVE TO SEE IT!!!!!
realizing from the notes that a lot of people werent aware of the the little stunt hulu/disney pulled!! yeah they offered him a lowball amount and wont pay him competitive pricing. then they announced the revival without finalizing his contract, probably to push him towards signing on at low pay to avoid being recast. apparently theyre still in talks so dimaggio could still get on the show, but he is standing his ground (as he should) and added that he wants better pay for his cast members as well so i fear its unlikely.
its really good to see all the fans and friends in the industry sticking up for him, hopefully if we cause enough of an uproar theyll realize how integral dimaggio is to the futurama legacy. his role as bender is iconic alone but he played many roles throughout the show and it just wouldnt be the same without him.
spread the word!! we got #bendergate to trend on twitter recently so that is a helpful tag to use when discussing this! dimaggio is also aware of this tag and seems to be keeping up with it somewhat.
Voice actors are still getting paid less than they deserve even after their strike several years ago. If you didn’t hear about it (and if you’re not a gamer or into animation or audiobooks that’s fair) they were not only striking for more pay, they also wanted more transparency in the casting process and safe working conditions. There was more, but that was the main focus.
Voice actors often work long hours and directors would call for take after take after take even when it was a screaming role. VAs often found themselves being pushed past their physical limits, resulting in overstressed or damaged vocal chords in search of that perfect take which could result in unpaid leave to recover.
The production companies also engaged in shady casting practices. VAs would audition for roles with little info beyond male/female character and perhaps the genre. Multiple VAs found themselves blindly acting out a role, paid peanuts and only after the show/game/book was released finding out they’d paid peanuts for portraying one of the most iconic characters ever. The blind casting also reduced diversity casting. Laura Bailey and other were dogpiled on social media for accepting PoC roles, when they themselves didn’t even know what character they were playing. Laura resigned from the role in question and demanded a WoC VA be cast when she found out, but she received a lot of unnecessary abuse in the meantime.
Disney, Hulu and other companies are not trying anything new or unique trying to force John DiMaggio to take a pay cut or walk out on his role. This is bullshit and it needs to stop.
boys will tell you they've been purified and renewed when they've actually been fused on the molecular-genetic level with a common housefly
